Parking at Downtown Disney

I'm heading to the parks next week (13th/14th). My DD10's close friend moved to Orange County last year and I just confirmed that they can meet us for a dinner to surprise the girls on Wednesday evening. Trying to offer them advice on parking. I know Downtown Disney has its own parking. If they are coming to meet us for dinner (5:30 reservation), would this be a good option? Does the lot still fill up with people coming to the parks for the evening, or have their newer rules alleviated some of that? Any advice would be appreciated!

Downtown Disney would be their best option as long as you’re dining at a Table Service restaurant at a Downtown Disney property. With validation from a TS restaurant they will receive 5 hours of free parking. With a quick service restaurant they can receive up to 3 hours free with a purchase of at least $20.
