Parking at Disney

Need info from those that drive to the parks. Are there any discounts if I park 7 straight days (will be buying a 7 day park pass). Also, do you have to pay for parking if we are going to dinner at a hotel, or just wanting to visit a hotel.

If you stay in an on-site hotel (ie a Disney hotel) parking is free at the parks and resorts. The same if you are an annual passholder. Otherwise, it's $8 to park at the parks; I am not sure about the resorts bcs we're always staying on-site, so it's free for us.

Visiting at a resort doesn't cost unless you are doing valet parking. No discounts for long term parking.

Parking is free at the Disney resorts, however, many will issue a 3 hour parking permit, and you must show them your drivers license at the security gate.

Don't they ask for a PS number for you to park at the monorail resorts. Otherwise people would try to park at the resorts to ride the monorail to MK.

I seem to recall needing a PS to park at the contemporary for our Chef Mickey PS. Maybe it depends how crowded the resort is.

You need the name the PS is under. We were going to meet some friends from another Disney board at the GF for tea once. I had the PS number, but the guard would not let us in without the name. I had the first name but, not the last name. It took him quite a while to consult his clip board of PS names to find the right first name at the listed PS time. Thought for a few minutes we'd miss the meet. That was August of 2003.
