We will be flying out of Detroit at the end of November. Just wondering if anyone can offer any advice wrt parking. We are flying out around dinner time, so are not sleeping over (and won't be using a hotel with a park & fly deal).

If you are flying Airtran definitely park at the big blue deck! That terminal is so small and you just walk across the street from the parking into the terminal and right into security and the gates. $10/day. I flew Airtran out and Delta back so I had to catch a shuttle from the other terminal back to the parking garage.

Big Blue Deck (assuiming you're not Delta)! Often you can get parking right next to the terminal.

check out the Westin got an email that they are having their penny parking
promotion, depends how long you are going it may be less then paying for parking.

Is the Big Blue Deck right at the airport? Easy to find?

Here's my dilemma... we're flying Air Tran down and Delta back. What would you suggest for me?

We are flying Delta! Is the shuttle ride that far from the Big Blue Deck to the other terminal?
The airport's website also talks about the "yellow" parking lot - also $10/day. Has anyone used that?

We have used the yellow lot a few times with no issues/ It's not much to look at (what parking lot is?!) but the shuttle service was fine and the price was right. It is VERY easy to miss the turn into it though - just be aware.

I think we have decided to try the Big Blue Deck, with the yellow parking lot as a back up (thanks for the heads up about keeping an eye out for the exit!). I don't know if the parking there ever tends to fill up (haven't parked at the airport other than for drop off/pick up at the McN terminal). We're hoping parking won't be a problem since we will be arriving the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.
