Have an 8:00pm ADR at Chef Mickey. Can I park my car at the Contemporary just before the ADR, and then walk to MK after dinner and then come back and drive out at MK park close?

Figure a maximum parking time at a monorail resort of 3 hours.

You CAN valet park for an unlimited time, but that would be kind of expensive (about $22-27, with tip) for a relatively short time.

Parking at resorts is provided for those enjoying the amenities of that resort. When they are no longer enjoying those amenities, they are expected to move their car. One of said 'amenities' is not the ability to walk to a park.

We have done this, but we valet parked. We thought the cost was worth the convenience.

I believe the cost of the valet parking as of last summer was around $15 or $17. You should of course tip the staff. We did this last summer. It was indeed convenient, though poorly thought out. We had an early breakfast, then stayed all day at the park, and attended the Halloween party afterwards. By the time the day was over, we were pretty tired / exhausted. It was a LONG walk back to the car, even though it isn't really all that far.

Valet has gone up since then to $20 plus tip.

Oh boy, I had planned on valeting for our 8:20 breakfast in July and then heading to MK (closing is midnight and it is our last night so we will probably stay fairly late). We are staying off property so the only other alternative is TTC. Do you think the walk back to the Contemporary is worse than walk to monorail or ferry then tram/walk through parking lot to car? Thanks!

Yes.

But, it's not really the walk that is the principle consideration for this.
It is the fact that you don't have to wait for either the monorail or ferry to arrive and board (and then make the trip on either) if you are exiting MK with thousands of other guests.
THEN, if you are parked deep in the MK lot, you'd still need to line up for, board, and ride the parking lot tram to your car.

BTW, I'm not advocating parking at CR, I'm just pointing out the reason many folks consider doing so.

Thank you, more to think about (just when I thought I had my plan in place ;)!). I appreciate your input. We have an MK day prior to the one with the Chef Mickey ADR where we will be at TTC, I think I will wait until after that day then get the opinion of the teenagers on whether they want to do that again or go for the walk.

In that situation, I would prefer to valet at the Contemporary. It's not so much the walking distance, but the "hurry up and wait" of the lot/TTC/ferry or monorail business. And with a breakfast that early, I would hate to have to factor in the travel time in the morning with that convoluted MK parking business. I think you can also take the monorail back to the Contemporary in the evening if you don't want to walk. Anyone?

Thank-you! I can't believe it is getting soo close!

Great thought about the monorail, did not even think about that!
