If you have an ADR it shows up on the list at the entrance security she knows. If you are not on that list you have to have some other form of proof such as MDE or a printout. Have a valid ADR and you are good to go. This is most important at those times when only the resort's guests and those with ADRs are being allowed in. Doesn't happen all that often but can occur when the parks and/or resort are very busy. Best to be prepared.
As to parking and going elsewhere it's as much about respect and courtesy. The resorts own guests have no other parking options. Visitors do have options like valet or the TTC. It does happen that the self parking lots get so full that there are no spaces. It's unbelievably awful when you return to your home resort and there is no parking. If you wouldn't want that to happen in you in your home resort then don't take the chance of doing it to others at their resort. Give the same courtesy you'd expect to receive. The lots are posted for use of facilities at that resort not a theme park or other resort. So when your business is done at that resort you should move your car.
