Parking a car at AKL

Is it a hassle to self-park at the AKL or the other resorts for that matter? We tend to come and go quite a bit and the Valet charges could get pretty expensive.

We just got back from AKL on sunday and the resort was pretty full. It's not a hassle to self park but sometimes you end up out in the north forty. LoL We parked in the handicap area but my son in law had to park in the regular lot. A few times he was lucky enough to get pretty close. AKL does have a small area across from the handicap parking where you can park for thirty minutes so that was helpful while we all checked in and checked out.

We also self parked at the AKL. It wasn't bad but it is a little walk. My mom has bad knees so we dropped her off then parked and walked back. We never had a hard time getting a spot.

The valet parking is a flat fee per day. The only thing that would make it expensive would be tips. We used a combination of both and it worked fine. Depending what time your pulling in (is it evening and everyone else is already back? or are you pulling in to a different resort for breakfast when many have already headed out?) That will determine how far away you will be parking.
