ok...so I broke down and am going to cancel my $2530 reservatiions at the DLH (just can't justify it $$$$:headache: ) so I booked at the Park Vue Inn($1242.00 including taxes) and was wondering what people think about the continental breakfast? Kids are ages 13, 6 and 14 months...also what do you think about the hotel in general? Anybody stayed there recently? I have read some reviews and they all seem to be pretty good, so just looking for some more input! and it doesn't look like the walk is too bad, so is it? Just thinking about having a tired 1 yr old to maybe have to go back in the middle of the day....so ready for my vacation...counting down!!!!! 36 days:banana:    :yay: :yay: :yay: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I have heard very few in the way of "love it" stories on this hotel. I would consider the Tropicana or the Camelot if you want to be right at the crosswalk. I have stayed at both, they are close, clean and both offer a free Continental breakfast. Of the two I like the Tropicana a bit more. Also, there is the Hojo. It is a bit further walk, it might be long for your toddler or rather you pushing a stroller. But its a lovely property with a great pool, oversized rooms and lovely grounds. And you can take the ART shuttle. Also, maybe the Candy Cane Inn. It is about the same distance as the Hojo, but has its own dedicated shuttle. It gets nothing but stellar reviews. I have booked us into the Best Western Park Place Inn for two nights before we head to the DLH. I have read great reviews of it on the dis, its the closest motel to DL and I was able to get a mini suite with two queens and sofabed for $145 a night in June. Which includes a free continental breakfast. I hate to nix a place I haven't stayed at but I would change if I were you. Why risk it when so many have nothing good to say about it?

I also have reservations for Park Vue inn. I had NO problem talking to someone ANYTIME I needed a question answered. I have had 2 other friends stay there and they were both fine with it. They both said "Nothing fancy but not bad" Well for the price I have no problem. It had been remodeled and is finished. I have also spoken with people from here on the DIS board who had no problems with the place. I look at the travel reviews and a lot of people are happy. Also Some people are never happy!.... I agree if I have a problem I wont go back BUT.. So far I have had good customer service!!

if is the one i'm thinking a few years ago we stayed there, let's just say I cried when I saw the room, there were a total of three beds, zero walking space and I cannot see how they passed any fire codes it was that clustered. . . i'm hoping for you it has changed. we are a family of five and it was not a fun time. . .

We stayed at the Park Vue in December.

We orginally had four families and had to cancel one of the rooms (one family didn't go). We had no problems with the cancellation.

So, we had three rooms, staying 4 nights. One night we did hear people; the remaining nights, we had no problems. I do think it's luck of the draw in general, if you have a family near you who is horribly noisy.

The breakfast was quite good. I can't remember the specifics, but much, much better than the sweet roll and orange drink kind.

The beds were fine and it was great to walk back from the park and be so close.

I prefer the Park Place Inn and Suites, but it was alot more for this trip. I would definitely stay again.

We've stayed here twice and I didnt mind it. We got one of the newly rennovated rooms. At the time the hotel was completely tore up due to construction so I think it was the luck of the draw we could have gotten an old room but lucked out. It wasn't fancy but it wasn't disgusting either. There are trips where I just look for something inexpensive to stay in that is clean and close and that was one of them. We barely spent time in the room. that's the way most of our trips are!

I remember just grabbing bananas for the breakfast and heading to the park. We aren't much of a breakfast family so it held us over til we ate about 11am.

We also stayed there during construction and I didn't have any problems at all although we did get an old room. AZ, when were you there? Wouldn't that be funny if we were there at the same time during construction. Mine was January of 2006!

One tip is that they don't have ANY elevators so if you have a stroller like me, you MUST get a ground floor room or haul it up the stairs all the time!!!

It was fine to stay there but I prefer the Desert Inn next door for larger rooms for around the same price!!

What are your trip dates if you don't mind me asking?

Feb 2006! Isnt that funny! Yes I agree request a ground floor. Even with no stroller it's tough for me to climb 1 flight of stairs after 16 hours in the park!!!:rotfl:

I too have booked to stay at the Park Vue. (after MUCH agonizing)

My reasons are simple.
1. we don't need a super fancy place, just clean
2. across the street
3. the price for 3 nights - got it for 120 bucks cheaper than the BWPPI
4. we get bunk beds for the kids
so less fighting. Moms out there you know what I'm saying:rolleyes1
....he's on my side....she's hogging all the covers...he kicked me...
5. something half decent in our tummy for free in the morning
6. rooms have fridge and microwave in them

I know there are bad reviews there, and good ones too. Just have to realize who is writing the review and try to imagine their perspective, and take everything with a grain of salt....ifyaknowhatimean..:hippie:

We stayed there in Dec 2006.It wasn't bad and it wasn't great. The breakfast was good compared to the DI next door. The room was not what I had hoped for.We had a king size bed and bunk beds.It was so small. We have 3 kids and we needed a shoe horn to pop us out.(DS12 DD10 DD5)The bathroom was nice except for the fact there was no outside vanity and no other mirror in the whole room.It made it hard getting ready in the morning.Do not stay in room 114 unless you want no room to move and no room to put your things.I complained that this was not a good room for 5 but no one listened. The floors were also pretty dirty. The bunk beds did not even have bedspreads on them either.I was not impressed at all.

I wished I would have kept my reservations at the DI.

First of all I have to say YOUR NAME ROCKS!!!! BAMBI RULES!!!!

Ok I got that out of my system! These are the reasons we choose hotels too. We are rarely in the room. Bunk beds for the kids are awesome. If they fight you can just tell them each night they will switch who is on top! :)

You might want to consider making another change. This is NOT a place my family will ever stay in again. The pool gave my brother-in-law and my nieces some kind of skin infection. My sister said it was dirty and cramped and the staff were neglectful.
