Hello fellow Dis'ers!
I have searched MANY threads about the Park Vue Inn and can not find the info I am looking for so I thought I would ask the experts!:worship:Although, I am sure alot of you are tired of answering questions about the Park Vue!!
We have stayed there beforeb (in a queen/bunk room), and after much convincing with my husband, we get to plan another trip!!
This trip will be a longer one than before and are looking at the suite(kitchenette) room at the Park Vue. Has anyone stayed there who could give me some details about this room. Where are they located at the motel (top floor or bottom)and where abouts. How is the kitchen appointed. What is the configuration of the room. I know there was a posting a few years back with a room map of the park vue but I can not find it!!:sad1: If anyone knows the thread, could you please pass it along my way!:goodvibes
Thanks so much for all your help dis'ers, you truly are the experts!!

We stayed in the 2Q- kitchenette suite last august for 2 nights. There are 4 suites total- 2 on the bottom (in the middle of the main hotel building) and 2 on top. I think they are rooms 111, 112 and 211, 212. We requested the bottom since we have a stroller and there are no elevators! It was much easier being parking right in front of our room in terms of loading/unloading the car. There was a lot of people noise though.

We did not like the suite. It was dirty and the furniture beat up. The bedroom was nice, but cramped with the 2Q. The beds were soft. We paid about $160/nite plus taxes and I can say that wasn't worth it.

The bathroom is off the kitchen, with a second sink in the kitchen (a bathroom vanity area). The bathroom was not nice- not totally clean and the towels were thin and old. The kitchen was okay- I seem to remember the fridge wasn't working well, but it was bigger than the typical small fridges. There wasn't really a lot of room to cook, but there was a stove and microwave. Dishes were included. I can't remember if there was a dishwasher but I don't think so. There wasn't a table to eat at so that made eating harder.

I really hated the food served at PVI. I went there thinking I could "save" money by eating there, but it ended up that we didn't eat anything at all there. The kids and my DH tried it a few times, but it was disgusting.

There might be pictures of the suite interior at tripadvisor. Good luck!

Oh- the suite floorplan is on the PVI website here:
http://parkvueinn.com/userfiles/fck/file/parkvue-inn-room-floorplans-2011.pdf

The only thing i'd add is that the second vanity sink actually extends the full length of the wall its on. The layout on the website makes it look like its in the corner. It has a lot of room.

We much much prefer the HoJo kids suites- have stayed there 2 times since Nov and are heading back next week. We find the layout much better in that we essentially have two bedrooms. We don't miss the kitchenette since it didn't really work well (we didn't "cook" there or anything). I do wish the HoJos kids suites had a larger fridge, with a separate freezer for freezing ice packs. Otherwise its great! And cheaper- we usually pay $130-142/nite with the 20% AP discount.

Thank you for the info!! We really would like a kitchen as this trip will be on a budget for sure! We don't have an AP so the cost of the HOJO would be more for us. I did look at the HOJO pics and their fridges are MUCH too small for the length of time we would be there but their suites do look wonderful. We didn't mind the food at Park Vue - being free and all, we just filled the hole and moved on to the parks! I have heard that Homewood suites has the same sort of offerings as Park Vue but it is further away, we may look into that one as well. Thanks again!! :)

There might be another full suite option nearby but I am blanking on the name. I'm not positive its Homewood but it might be. I've stayed in the "extended" stay type suites before and they have much bigger kitchens than the suite at PVI. I can't imagine cooking in that little kitchenette. Fine perhaps for something like cooking a frozen pizza, but it was very sparsely appointed. Remember there was also no table to eat at.

HoJos is lacking onsite food, but we absolutely love it! We have ordered take out from Mimi's which was really easy.

We are going to be staying at the Residence Inn Anahiem Maingate in May. It has a full kitchen including dishwasher, full fridge & table as well. I have read nothing but good reviews about it (hope they are all true :)) We reserved for $159 a night for a 2 queen suite with sofabed, including free full breakfast, free parking and internet. It appears it will be about a 15 minute walk away.

Just another option to look into.

YES- that is the extended stay suite hotel i was thinking of. It has really good reviews on this boards. The kitchen and dining area is much much bigger than the one at PVI. You could definitely cook and eat there!

Thanks for the info icecream!!:goodvibes Could you please review it when you come back?:surfweb: That would be fantastic!:thumbsup2 I did look at Homewood and Embassy but I don't want to be so far away that we would have to drive. My husband likes the idea of being across the street but I think his stomach will thank me with a few cooked meal!!:rotfl2:

Thanks for the info!!:goodvibes Frozen pizza, burgers, maybe KD and some fresh salad stuff is about the extent I would cook:guilty: But when you are on a budget with 3 boys you can't keep full :scared1: I really just wanted something that would definately have a bigger fridge as well as perhaps an oven to make light meals with. A table would be nice though as the last time we were there, we didn't have a table and that did bother me somewhat.:sad1: All that being said, I plan to spend most of my time at the parks or at the beach!!:upsidedow

This Park Vue suite is what we have booked for our trip in July. Should I be worried about cleanliness? :confused3 Our main requirements were being close to the cross walk, softer comfy beds, and enough room for the 5 of us and possibly 6 for a few of the nights if I can talk my sister into joining us.

We will be in a 2 room suite there in July as well, the one with the kitchenette. I do a lot of research on trip advisor, am a senior contributor there, and watch the percentages of excellent and very good ratings as apposed to the terrible and poor. They are rated the number 2 hotel in the area, and nearly 1000 people have rated them in the excellent and very good category. There are always going to be people who have problems at some point, and what I watch for is when it is consistently the same problem repeated over and over, then you know there is probably something there, and also as long as the percentage of excellent and very good are way higher, you are probably going to be ok. I have a couple of pictures they have posted on their facebook page showing the new carpets they have put in this past year, and to me the door, trim, beds in background and of course carpet look very nice and very clean. judging from the 1st pic, it is the kitchenette suite as there is a sofa in the front room and the beds are in the second room. I will be taking plenty of pictures of the room, grounds and the food offered and will post in the hotels thread our throughts on the place. There are lot's of pictures at trip advisor as well. We have stayed at Hojo's many times in the past more than 20 years and really like it, we were just there in December. Also at the Disneyland Hotel, Candy Cane Inn, the Sheraton, Best Western Park Place Inn, and many hotels all up and down the west coast and in many other places as well. I hope we will be happy with our new choice! :goodvibes
oh and they also say there is a service for 4 (4 plates bowls etc) a saute pan and 2 pots for cooking. The last thing I want to do on vacation is cook! but our daughter whom we are travelling with is looking to do some light meals for her son, so I'm sure it will be more than sufficient for that.
I will be anxious to compare notes with you when our vacations are done! :goodvibes

For all the Park Vue peeps that have gone recently is the two q beds good room enough for two adults and 1 child? We will be traveling down at the end of may for 4 nights 3days. Could you recommend a good room that perhaps just got done being renovated also and are the beds comfy? :)
