Hi I am going to Disneyland in September and staying at the Park Vue Inn. I have read many reviews of the Park Vue which state that the main reason for staying here is the location and I have not seen any rave reviews. We did get a really good price.

My concern is, I have read 2 reviews about cocroaches being seen here (yuck) :sad2:

So I am asking anyone and everyone ..... has anyone had recent experiences here good or bad? Should I worry ?

Will I be seeing unwanted bugs in my room ?

I am not looking for, nor do I expect the palace but I definitely do NOT need bugs in my room.

Thank you

I stayed in March and had no problems what so ever, no bugs, the place was clean, I walked around barefoot and didn't get grubby feet. The laundry is pretty good and the breakfast is good too - not heaps of variety, but good for a quick breakfast.

I didn't use the pool, but it's nice too.

You get a great view of the fireworks.

I'll probably stay there again if I get the same good price I got last time.

I stayed in Sept 2007. We had no problems either. It was clean and no bugs. We would stay there again. I probably have some pics if you want to see them, just let me know.

I already had photobucket up so here are the pics anyway :rotfl:

We stayed in 106 ( abunkbed room on the first floor) at the end of April in 2008 and we saw no bugs...

the only problem I had was they were tarring the roof for the new Ice cream place and it smelled bad, so no one could eat outside and the contintental breakfast room was packed!

We've been staying at the Park Vue Inn for the last 7 years, 3-4 times a year. The location is GREAT! I have never seen a cockroach or any other type of bug in our room. The free breakfast is better than some of the other hotels near by. They serve hot and cold cereal, waffles, muffins, donuts, toast, fruit, milk, hot cocoa, apple and orange juice, coffee and tea. They just added a Cold Stone Creamery and the gift store is well stocked with food and souvenir items. I think you'll be very pleased with your choice!:thumbsup2

We just stayed 6 nights last month and it was great! Just your basic room but the walk to DL is so short and easy. Breakfast was also your basic donuts, fruit, cereal, toast and waffles with coffee, juice and milk. This is what we would eat normally anyways no matter where we stayed. We don't eat out for breakfast as we like to save our $$ for lunches and dinners in the park.

Stay upstairs if you like it nice and quiet. I can't stand all the stomping and running we hear when we stay in first floor rooms so now we always stay on the highest floor we can get.

We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in March. It was clean and comfotable. The pool was in the middle of the parking lot so it didn't seem very inviting, but we don't go to swim as we have a pool at home. The location was awesome and the staff was very nice. This is important to me as I travel alone with my kids.

If you like to sleep in the morning, get a room as far away from the breakfast room as possible. There were way too many people with toddlers/younger kids letting them run back and forth from their rooms to the breakfast area. I understand that some may need a few hours to get everyone up and ready to go. However, my preteens can get up and be ready to go in 10-15 minutes. Since they are night owls and we go non-stop all day, the extra sleep is important. I usually grab a few things from the breakfast bar that we can eat while getting ready or take with us and eat while waiting for the main gates to open.

There is nothing exciting about the property but it is clean and well maintained which is really enough when you factor in the location and a good price. :)

We stayed in March this year. It's not fancy by any means, but it was CLEAN, and you can't beat the location. The walk was shorter than staying at DLH. I think we paid $80/night, so the price was right too. Do we LOVE it? No. Will we stay there again? Probably.

Thanks for all of the great replies. Mikayla73 the pictures look great thank you so much !

Now I am getting really excited :yay: ! Can't wait to go and see Disneyland for the first time.

I hope that you and your family have a really great, fun and terrific holiday Goofy618! :flower3:
Thank you for sharing the pictures mikayla73, :) the room looks very nice, and quite a nice size for the mini-fridge.

We stayed February 08.
Good: Our room was above the gift shop, on the second floor right next to the stairs. Location was fantastic to get to the breakfast room and back a few times (they don't have trays) and it was nice that our room was the 1st one we saw as we walked up after a long day. Park Vue is really close to the crosswalk--that's the selling point.
Bad: The carpets were filthy. My son's socks were black on the bottom within 2 minutes of taking his shoes off. Lots of moldy caulk in the shower. We did see a bug, but it was flying, and probably just came in from outside, so I can't fault them for that. Sheets were threadbare. But the absolute worst was the 2nd and 3rd day when I realized that the housekeeper had not actually washed the coffee cups or replaced them, just wiped or rinsed them--my lipstick marks were smudged and there was a coffee ring still on the bottom of both cups. The thought of the maid wiping our cups down with the rag she used to wipe down the bathroom was enough to make me swear off Park Vue, no matter how cheap the rooms are! Replied to the manager's email asking for opinion with this info and never got a response.

That is just so unhygienic! gross, really, I have heard reports of properties in general doing that sort of thing, so if we ever become sick, it may be for that reason (s).
I sure am sorry that had happened to you, that just is not pleasant, then a carpet that is that filthy, that is just inexcusable, really it is, that tells me, that the property never, or if anything, once in an extremely great while, do they have their rugs shampooed.
