Park Vue Inn--not a good neighbor hotel?

We are planning to stay at Park Vue Inn for our upcoming trip in January after reading many very positive reviews. However, after looking at Disneyland.com, it is not listed as a Good Neighbor Hotel? I am curious why that would be? What makes a Good Neighbor Hotel? Is there something we would be missing? Does anyone have any experience with this hotel? Any that you think would be a better option? We are a family of 5 with 2 adults and 3 children.

Thanks

No - Park Vue Inn is not a Good Neighbor Hotel. I don't know what the criteria is or how a hotel gets to be one, but PVI is not. Before booking, be sure to search for threads on this board. You'll find some positive and some very negative experiences (including mine) . Also, check their Better Business Bureau rating. You'll find that their rating is much, much lower than the surrounding hotels.

Don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch.

"Good Nieghbor" is a marketing term, it doesn't mean anything about a place. PVI is highly rates by most people and probably doesn't need to pay to be listed when it can sell rooms on it's own merits.

Aren't Magic Mornings a perk of good neighbor hotels?

No. Guests get one Magic Morning entry with most parkhopper tickets of 3 days or longer, regardless of where they stay. If a guest stays at one of the three official Disney on-site hotels, then they can have Magic Morning access on any morning it is offered. Staying at a Good Neighbor hotel does not provide any special MM perks.

I'll be darned. Thanks for the info! :)

PVI is a great place imo. Yes some people, including a previous poster, have had some issues there, but I think the positive comments far outweigh any negative ones. We will be there again next week, and are looking forward to it :)

We have stayed there twice and loved it for the proximity, good free breakfast and free water in the lobby. Is a bit loud, though.
