Park Transportation

We are thinking about joining and I was wondering what sort of park transportation is available from the resorts. I know the BWV, etc. have the boats that go to Epcot and MGM, but besides that what is there? Does each resort have a dedicated bus service? Is it shared between the resorts? Is it prompt or do you have to wait a long time in between buses?

There is bus service at every resort to get you to any Disney location. I personaly have never had a problem with this, but I am sure that there will be plenty of post to follow with a much diffent story.

A great tool for figuring out what transportation options are available from all points in Disney to all points in Disney is the transportation wizard at: www.ourlaughingplace.com. Just click on "resorts" at the menu at the top of the page, and then click on "Transportation Wizard."

You then input your starting point (any resort or park) and your ending point (any resort or park) and all of your options and the length of time each one takes for travel is listed out for you. It's really a great tool, and helps in planning your days and itineraries if you are planning on using WDW transportation for your trip.

DVC resorts are serviced by the same bus transportation system as is all of WDW. There are some resorts that share busses due to their location, but the quality of the service is bound to fluctuate over the next 40-50 years. OK, actually it's bound to fluctuate over the next 40-50 MINUTES.

If you've ever stayed at a WDW resort, you no doubt realize that wait times and quality of service will vary depending on the time of day, time of year, size of crowds, etc. Well, it's exactly the same at a DVC resort.

If you have specific questions, you might want to check out the transportation board. Recently I have read complaints regarding the Boardwalk sharing busses with other resorts. But there's no reason to believe that will be the case for the next 40+ years.

In short, the quality of bus service probably isn't the best criteria to use in evaluating the value of DVC.

Service will vary by resort since each resort must contract seperately with WDW transportation.

At OKW, I have always felt the bus service was adequate, but lately I have thought it is outstanding! The past few trips, we have not waited hardly at all either at the resort or at the parks. Now going through DTD is a different matter, but we usually don't use the bus to DTD from OKW.
