Hi
we are planning our first trip at the end of August (myself, dh, 3 kids-12), We are staying at the HRH. I can't decide if we need the park to park tickets, usually at WDW we do non-hoppers. Can any explain to me what the new Hogwarts express is. Is it a ride or just a train that will connect the 2 parks? I have 1 son who loves HP, not really the other 2.
thank you, we are all so excited :goodvibes

The Hogwarts express is both a ride AND a mode of transportation between both parks..If you are at all interested in riding it , a PARK TO PARK ticket is REQUIRED.

I did realize that a park to park ticket is required. I was trying to figure out if it were a "ride" or just a train ride between the parks.
I guess I can wait til it opens to see what it's all about before we buy our passes
Thanks again

They did a press release about The Hogwarts Express. If you have seen the movies, the train is an exact replica with the windows being giant screens so it appears you are traveling between London and Scottland. There are 3 different journeys from Hogsmead and 3 different journeys from Kings Cross. So a total of 6 different rides you can have. They play out things from the book such as 2 year flying car or 3rd year dementors attacking the train. Also looks like there will be a sweets trolley but that was a vague comment and might be f referring to something else. Bottom line, if you are a fan of Harry Potter at all don't miss the train. Even if you not it sound like a fun experience.

Here is a link to a press video that shows a bit inside The Hogwarts Express. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bnFsYHP5JOA

Can't wait to experience this in October. I'll be obsessively watching the movies until then!

Thank you very much!
I have one huge HP fan, so looks like it will be park to park tickets.
