Park tickets and added hopper

We normally buy tickets with park hopper, our first day we'll only visit one park for the afternoon for rides and dinner. my question is when I buy my tickets in advance (for fast passes) for the whole trip should I only purchase the basic one park per day and then upgrade to hopper for the rest of our stay. there will be 5 adults and I'm wondering if I can save money for the 1st nite on the hopper add. or will they charge the hopper add to the 1st day used.
We're DVC member and staying at Beach club, would they be able to add the hopper to our rest of our stay, can it be done late at nite or early the next morning so that we don't lose the next morning looking for ticket upgrades.
also if we did go to a park the next morning with the basic ticket could we
upgrade to hopper at lunch time and visit another park in the afternoon with the hopper add-on. Thanks

The price of the parkhopper is based on the number of days originally on the ticket not how many days are left on the ticket, so I think it wouldn't matter when you add on the parkhopper the price will be the same. That's how I interpret it anyway.

It's a flat $60 add on so you would pay the same amount no matter the amount of days.

Actually they changed the price of adding parkhoppers to tickets and now it varies. "Park Hopping is an additional $35-$60 per ticket, depending on how many days are on your ticket."

Only for 3 days or less is it less than $60, and it is still based on the length of the original ticket.

Last I knew the price for PH was $40/$49/$49/$60...it you get the 1-day MK ticket, which already costs an extra $5, then PH only costs an additional $35.

If you get a short ticket with PH, and then add days, you also need to pay the additional difference in the PH option.
