Park Ticket Savings for DVC Families with children 5-17

5forDiz-Thanks for all the information!! I will let my friends know not to count on classes in December. If they classes occur, great, but just in case they need a back-up plan.

Hopefully they will expand Individual Enrollment class schedule, that would be great :goodvibes It's definitely worth checking YES site weekly just in case. Here's link to thread on Budget board too, it started up nearly year & half ago but latest posts are good to read to learn what posters have heard about what may or may not happen in upcoming months.

Fingers crossed !

Just an update, adult chaperones have to buy the ticket package also to attend the class. My little ones won't be able to go this time because my DH and I already have park tickets. My older two can go with out an adult chaperone.

Did you ask if your 14yr old is old enough to chaperone the younger kids for the class they'd want to attend ? It could be possible that they'd allow it.

Good luck :)

Back when my adult 'kids' were really kids, they were able to take advantage of the many classes offered. Our son did one on photography, one on the native wildlife in the area, and a couple of others I don't recall. Our DD did the photography one also. Disney has always done a great job with their classes, and I was so sad to see the Disney Institute close, because I too got in on some wonderful learning experiences there. I would have loved it if they would have offered the ticket savings then too.

One thing I think Disney is still very good at its the educational part of their outreach programs. We love taking the behind the scenes offerings each trip. Even better is that they offer the discount tickets for this new YES program!:thumbsup2

Thank You very much for this info it looks amazing and dd would love this , as well thanks for the heads up that we have to purchase the package too . but for our trip in aug/sept they have nothing for us but hopefully next trip.
Thank You again

Thanks to the OP for this thread!:worship:

I had heard of the YES Program before, but had no idea that it was open to individual enrollment. This opportunity works PERFECTLY for my family and will save us $675 - in addition to a "magical learning experience"!

SO AWESOME!!!!!!

What wonderful timing! I checked into it and luckily they are offering classes the week we were planning to be there this summer. Good thing I waited to purchase tickets because the YES program just saved us over $550 on 8-day Park Hopper + Fun Visit tickets!! Thanks for posting this

Just talked to Amanada at Disney Yes and my older two can do it by themselves with us in the parks. The older two and the younger two would be in two different classes, so chaperoning them wouldn't work. I was still able to buy tickets for all 4 kids, just the two younger boys won't be able to do the class.

So glad some fellow Disney addicts could save some $$$ and get a great learning experience for our kids!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Just an Update - Registration for the fall classes (Sept & Oct) just opened up today.
:yay: My family is all set to attend the Wild By Nature class on Oct 25th!

I would check out the thread above. While going through the Registration process, some changes to the Program were noted.

Good Luck all!:goodvibes

We are registered for the Oct 17th Ocean class in EPCOT:banana::banana: I am so excited!!! We got 4- 8 day premium tickets for 835$...disney rate for those tickets 1394$ plus tax for a grand total of 1484!!!!!!!!I saved 649$...I feel like I just hit the jackpot and my daughter is going to LOVE the class.

This looks like a wonderful program! I wish that we could participate but our dates do not coincide with any of the classes. We are going 11/5 - 11/12.

We just signed up for this a couple weeks ago! Saved our family of 8 a TON of money! I think our tickets went from around $3100, down to $1600. HUGE savings!

If I am following this correctly, don't worry. The YES program runs all year. They just opened through October. In a month or two, they will probably open up November. (Unless I guess they fill up with real groups?) But I think they have been running this individual enrollment all year...

I emailed the Yes program about November dates. I recieved a response that said they will not have any individual enrollement in November or December "due to park attendance and other events." I am still hopeful this changes, however!

I am going to buy tickets from UT but if a program becomes available I can always save the tix for another trip.

I was so thrilled when I found this. I priced our tix on UT and they came out to $1300 and change. With YES, we paid $750.
