If you stay at a Disney resort, do you find that it is better to go to the park with the extra magic hours and deal with the greater population in the park that day or to go to another park with less population (if that makes sense!). :earboy2:

We may go to the park at opening & leave by noon. (we then go to a different park) The crowds are quite busy with extra magic hours. We have young children so they are too young to stay up that late. I can't wait till they are old enough to see if EMH are worth it.

We either went to a non emh park or went for the emh time and then left to go somewhere else by around 11am.

When we do the early mornings we get there before opening. Get on what we want to ride right away. Grab FP for future rides (next hour or so). Then leave that park before it gets too crowded.
Someone posted a great tip a while ago that we used. After entering the MK hop on the train to get to Big Thunder and Splash Mountains. This saves a lot of walking time going through Main Street. When we tried this I could not believe how quiet the area was when we got off the train. This was a great tip that we will certainly use again!

Definitely utilize the early opening days... but don't plan on staying there all day. EE parks are very busy all day.

It's getting tough to figure out when to do MK on a weekend trip. Use to think Fri since Sat at MK should always be avoided and Sun was EE day. Now, Fri is EE, Sat is still Sat, and Sun is extra evening hours. (Staying til Mon might be an option but I've heard Mondays are bad at MK as people start their weeklong vacations there!)

When we stayed at Disney last summer, we were at MK before opening on EMH day. We did all of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland and most of TTF before noon! We really got a LOT accomplished. We are fans of EMH....even though we are NOT morning people by any means!! Looking forward to trying EvEMH at MGM next!!

One of my favorite strategies for getting down Main Street, Hollywood Blvd, and parts of Sunset Blvd is to walk through the stores--they are all connected on the inside! I only do this if it's raining, or there's a parade in the streets, or for whatever reason it's nearly impossible to walk down the main road because walking through the stores DOES require some zig zagging.
