We are debating going the night before, we don't usually, but our fight leaves at 7:00 am , so to avoid ruining our first day of being completely exhausted, this way we'll just be tired, lol! Any hotel suggestions?? The other thing I have noted is a lot of the hotels I have checked out, the shuttle doesn't start till 6:00am, which is not good for us either, we need to find a hotel that starts their shuttle at 5:00am, or that is 24 hrs. Thanks.

We usually take this flight if we're not flying out of Plattsburgh. We stay at either the Best Western Airport Inn which is right in the airport parking lot. Be sure to ask for a runway room so your kids can watch the planes coming and going. Or we stay at the Candlewood Suites. Both are nice and we always make it to the airport on time. Both shuttles start at 4am

We took the same flight on NYE Day. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express which is about 2 minutes from the airport. Very clean, very modern, and has an indoor pool. They also have a free breakfast but it doesn't officially start until after you will have left for your flight. That said, they offered us something cold (fruit, cereal, etc.) if we wanted to take anything "to go". Food options at the airport are minimal, but if you are flying JetBlue, you will have free snacks on the plane. And there are many fast food type places in the immediate vicinity (Tim Hortons, etc.) that you could run out and grab something quick if you are up early enough.

Shuttle was VERY efficient. Upon arrival back at the airport, we were in the van less than 10 minutes from the time we called the hotel to let them know we needed a lift.

We did have a small problem with rowdies, though. Here is my Tripadvisor review:

This coming trip, we are staying at the Candlewood Suites which is right next door to the HIE. No breakfast (but we have an afternoon flight this time, so lots of time to get our last Timmies breakfast before we endure a week of withdrawal ;)) and no indoor pool BUT we get a one-bedroom suite (as opposed to a queen/queen room) and the price is much better than the HIE.
