Hi All, my wife and I just decided tonight to do a trip over Easter break and I'm really concerned about this new park reservation system. We haven't officially booked it yet, because I saw on the disney website that there is zero availability for hollywood studios for Easter week! Does anyone know if this will change or do you literally have to keep checking every hour to grab a reservation there? Hollywood studios is our favorite park, so if we cannot get in as resort guest i'm not sure if its worth all the money? My other question is that we may have an opportunity to use a friends DVC points at Saratoga Springs but won't know for sure for another few weeks. Would it be ok to just book any resort/package now so I have a reservations which would then allow me to book park reservations as a resort guest, and then be able to add the DVC reservation at a later date and cancel the original hotel booking? Or, is it best to just buy tickets without a hotel right now and book the parks and add the DVC later? Thanks in advance, i'm so confused!

Yes Park Pass Reservations change as guests make changes to their plans. Disney just added capacity for March and April but as you now know Easter week at DHS is booked solid until April 10th at this time in all 3 allocation buckets.

There is no one right answer to the rest of your questions. Do you have tickets or would they be part of a package for the "holding" reservation while you check out your DVC points option?

To make a Park Reservation aka Disney Park Pass, you need to first have a ticket. Do you plan to purchase tickets or as part of your resort reservation?

No one can say if you will be able to grab a reservation for Studios. People do change their plans all the time. And supposedly Disney does move spots between buckets. Right now there is availability for APs . At some point, Disney might move some of those spots to the other buckets, or they might not. It is of course a good idea t9 check frequently to see if spots opened up.

Booking a package to make park reservations is fine. Make sure your DVC reservation is in MDE before you cancel the package so you don’t lose any park reservations. But note, if you buy tickets as part of a package, they are refundable if you cancel. But if you buy them separately, they are not. So if you just buy tickets to make your park reservations then decide not to go, you will still own those tickets.

Just a note.... Easter week shows as available for all parks, including Studios, in the AP category.

I have also noticed that the calendar is virtually the same for Theme Park Ticket Guests and Resort Guests. No real advantage to being a resort guest from what I am seeing.

Thanks Dave. We plan to purchase tickets separately in case we can rent DVC with our friends.

So I just booked a weeklong trip for late February into March 2022. I am trying to figure out timing for making park reservations when ADRs don’t happen until 60 days out and who knows if other paid experiences will be available. Just not sure of the planning sequence/timing now. Any suggestions?

In general it does seem like Disney reallocates between the pass buckets to maximize availability so I would say there is a decent chance they will take some passes out of the AP bucket and put them in the resort bucket between now and Easter.

You may want to book a package now and cancel later just so you can make your other park pass reservations without having to commit to a non refundable standalone ticket.

A lot can change last minute, but I usually book my trips 6 months out. I think whatever is in place for the 50th will give you a good idea as to what all be available in Feb 2022.

Pucks104: Hoping it all works out really well; although at the moment a lot of ppl seem to be hesitating before making firm bookings; but it may all turn out okay for ppl, of course...

OP, check now. All parks are showing as available for every category.

I am so confused that every park is now available for every day. Did they increase their capacity?

No way to know. They might have, or people might have cancelled reservations or they might have redistributed spots from one bucket to others. The AP bucket had spots available, so they might have moved some from AP to the others.
