Park Passes

For those of you that don't stay on property, do you buy your park passes early? We will be Florida in January and I am looking at the price of park passes and wanting to know when is a good time to buy them and how to get some good deals on them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We always buy our tickets at Maple Leaf Tickets.
You can buy them from their website but there is no advantage or savings.
They are located in Kissimmee on US192.
You will save a few bucks from buying them at the gate

The only best time to buy tickets is before Disney does the annual price increase, but that has already passed this year so tickets will be stable for months. The one advantage to pre-buying is one less thing to worry about when you get there. We're always raring to go when we get there.

I wouldn't order too far in advance, but leave enough time for the tickets to get here. We order about a month in advance if we are getting tickets. We also tend to order 10 day no-expiry to lock in the lower price over several trips, so don't order every trip.

And don't wait for any "deep discounts" on Disney tickets. The only way to get a big discount is by attending a sales presentation for a timeshare; and it's NOT worth your time. I would watch for the occasional free day promos that come up (i.e. 5 days for the 4 day price). They seem to come up on UT fairly frequently.
