If I prepurchase our MYW passes before we go to WDW, will they send them to me? (This seems like a dumb question now that I'm actually typing it.) I'm wondering how to get the pre-purchase price AND have our room key/charge have the park passes on it. Is it done this way, or am I foolishly wishing for fewer little cards to carry around?

Usually if you pre-purchase tickets they are not sent to you, they will be added to your reservation and encoded to your room keys when you arrive. However they do sometimes send them in advance, to your home...

With the new ticket system, the front desk is able to put your tickets onto your key cards, even if you have had them mailed to you (this has never been an option). They can now take any ticket and have it transfered to your room card. It is a great new option in the system. So even if they are mailed to you in advance you can ask them to put them on your room keys when you arrive. They basically will take the entitlement number from your ticket and transfer it to the room card.

So even if I got the tickets through Maple Leaf or another non-Disney outlet, they can encode them to my room key at check-in time? Very cool!

So even if I have a 7 day PHP and only plan on using 4 days, I can have them put all the days on my room key ? - can I assume that I keep the original ticket and use it again on future trips for the left over days and pluses? I am forever demagnitizing my PHs when they get up against my cell phone or camera batteries - so maybe I would also have a back up ticket in case that happens again ? thanks for helping us all so much while we adjust to this new system, Liberty Belle !! :smooth:

No, Libertybelle is talking about the new MYW tickets. The old rules still apply to the PHPs, as far as I know -- if bought from a non-Disney source, they cannot be transferred to the room key.

So was it only with the old PHP that they could not be encoded to room keys if purchased offsite? Or will that also be true of the new MYW tix? I'm looking at the Maple Leaf site and for the 10 day premium non-exp their price is about $100 less than if purchased through Disney.

For what its worth, we just purchased 5 day multi-park passes for my folks at the GF. They are arriving tomorrow and we're staying at Saratoga Springs. They are on a separate card from the room pass which I think is a good idea. The CM at the GF told us that as long as we're in the 14 day window, we can have them converted to non-terminating status even if there is only one day left on the pass.

What do you see as the main advantage of keeping tickets and room key separate? I'm thinking that then I have more things to keep track of, and more opportunity to lose something. But I suppose on the flip side if it's ALL on one card, and THAT gets lost, that's even more of a pain.

This is great news!!! Thanks for sharing the information.
