Park Pass Reservations with DVC Rental Star

I have a DVC rental stay reservation linked to my MDE account. I also have tickets purchased through a ticket broker linked to my MDE. All for the same dates. I went in to make my park pass reservations and could only make reservations for ticket holders not resort guests. I am worried that it will cause me issues down the road. Does anyone know how I can book resort guest park passes or what I am doing wrong? Thanks so much!!

I didn't know there is a difference....I do know that I had my tix linked even before my DVC stay, and it shows resort guest extended hours, for example.

No one can book a park reservation with it a ticket. That is what is required and not being on a reservation.

Once all your guests have tickets you can book their park reservations.

We all have tickets and have booked park reservations as ticket holders but not resort guests. I just want to make sure that will not cause a problem when we get there with things like early entry, lightning lane reservation times and extended evening hours. For some reason I thought there were 3 types of park reservations - ticket holder (offsite guest), resort guest and AP.

Thar is no longer there for park reservations. For the other aspects, as long as everyone is a guest, when they scan in it will show they are eligible for those as resort guests

I thought they didn’t have tickets yet! Lol

Need a ticket to make park reservations. I will be glad when/if the reservation system goes away, if find it to be ludicrous. Even worse that I have to tap into the reserved park before hopping, there is zero reason for that.

As long as they exist, I get why they do it. It means you have secured yourself at least one park. So, if hopping is not allowed that day, at least you are set.

Now, what they could do is allow someone to change after 2 pm vs tapping at original park.

I believe you can change (I know we did on several mornings) but the point is why have to take that step at all after 2pm? It's lunacy to force folks to travel to a park (or cancel/change if they can) first just to be able to go where they would be able to go after 2 anyway. It's not like you have to tell Disney you are now heading to this park or that after 2 so where is the benefit. Even the initial reservation, I get that it perhaps benefits them but there is no benefit to us at all except maybe on the few days a year that parks actually reach capacity. We went 48 years without a reservation system and I don't recall hearing about a lot of folks being shut out of a park.

Probably right that it is here to stay. Just not sure that causing inconvenience (and it is an inconvenience, minor to some major to others) to customers in order to use for staffing is the right way to go. Not an issue for 48 years until now. Kind of reminds me of something that has happened in recent past but can't quite put my finger on it.

They used to show different availability for resort guest vs ticket holder but toward the last half of last year it seemed like availability was always the same. Best guess is that they combined the 2 buckets of availability into one.
