Just saw this rumor today…

https://www.kennythepirate.com/2022...on-the-horizon-for-disney-world-park-hopping/

Rumor that park hopping will also require reservations, but may open up before 2.

Any other intel on this?

PH, which we have done every trip, is already cumbersome having to wait until 2 and is value diminished. If we have to make reservations to hop, we will not buy these ever again.

I hope this is FALSE.

Honestly going to go with probably going to happen-
Nothing they are doing makes any sense to me.
I absolutely hate the park reservation system.
I have been multiple times and it is just pointless at this point.
The parks seem as crowded as any other time before reservations and now making you have to decide where you might want to hop to ridiculous-

I also feel like it’s a bad idea with dining too-
What if you make a dining reservation in another park and then cannot get a park reservation- So you have to cancel it.

Others may not feel the way I do, but I feel like this is just getting out of hand.
I agree with at this point “they are trying to control guests” - so insane.

This would be the deal breaker for us. We sometimes do 3 parks in a day and I sure do not want more planning requirements. My DH and I just decided if this is implemented we will cancel our next trip.

What about this? LOL

What if there is a ParkHopper and a ParkHopper+.

You need to make park hopping reservations with the Park Hopper.
You can pay $15/day to get the ParkHopper+ where you do NOT need reservations.

I'll accept that assistant CEO job if you're reading this, Chapek.

We’ll that wouldnt be good now would it. Scrap that idea. I’m guessing it comes from folks being advised to check in at “undesirable “park and hop to the one they want an busy days

That's funny. But how would they "control and predict crowds/attendance" if the ParkHopper+ guests run rampant to any park (maybe any time = less predictability), without reservations?

They use the excuse that they want to improve the guest experience, with the reservation systems, by controlling/predicting attendance and crowds. While it does give them some measure of attendance control, guests obtain more reservations access if you stay onsite and pay Disney more.

The 2pm park hopping ruins our preferred way of getting to Hollywood Studios from the Polynesian.

Old way: Leave resort in the morning. Monorail to Epcot, walk through Epcot, get breakfast at Epcot or on the boardwalk, take a boat to Hollywood Studios.

New way: Leave resort at NOON. Monorail to Epcot, walk through Epcot, get LUNCH at Epcot or on the boardwalk, take a boat to Hollywood Studios.

What the suits and bad decision- makers don’t get:

We always had hoppers because if our first park was too crowded, we would hop somewhere else- usually somewhere with more open space like Epcot or AK. Thereby extending our park day and more hours spending money in the parks.

PH was somewhat self-policing as far as crowd control goes.

If we have to make reservations, we won’t get PHs again. And may not even return, because this is bonkers. We want LESS restriction, not MORE.

The reservation system has never been about limiting capacity in the parks. It is give them data to control how much staff needed each day to maximize profits.

The current level of planning, and the constant changing of planning requirements is simply too much. I'm pretty sure our next theme park trip will be to Universal.
We're trying Universal as part of our trip next time (most likely). It is CRAZY EXPENSIVE though.

1 or 2 days are more expensive than WDW. Plus, they sort of force you to get their park-hopper as that's the only way you can ride the Harry Potter train.

I picked Wednesday, July 20 as a random date:
Universal 1-day: $189, 2-day: $322 (with Express pass both days: $760)
WDW 1-day: $134, 2-day: $261(with Genie+ both days: $291)
