Hi everyone! Planning my ADRs. I read about the boat that goes between HS and Epcot. Trying to decide which one is better/ faster. The bus or the boat? Thanks!

The boat trip takes about 20 minutes but takes you to International Gateway (between UK and France in World Showcase). I have no idea how long the bus takes (I didn't even know there was a bus) but, if there is, it will take you to the front of the park and wouldm I amagine, take a similar time.

So I would say it really depends where you want to be in Epcot.

Quite often we will take the boat but get off at the Swan/Dolphin and walk to Epcot as that is slightly quicker (depending on your walking pace) than staying on the boat.

I haven't done the bus, but the boat is a delight!!

And I agree; if you get off at one of the resorts, you can definitely beat the boat!

If you miss the boat, or there's no sign on one coming, or you feel energetic, the walk from the entrance of HS to the IG in Epcot is only 20-25 minutes

It depends on where you are or where you want to go at Epcot.

If you're at HS and you want to go to WS I would probably walk or take the boat. But if you want to go somewhere in Future World, I would take the bus.

This. Both will take you to the from of HS, but the boat goes to WS and the bus goes to the front of the park at Epcot. It really depends on where at Epcot you're going to/coming from.

I'd take the boat just because I think it's a more pleasing ride. My wife always takes the boat and I walk, and just about always beat her!

Walking took us 15 minutes. That was the fastest

+1. We always walk, unless a torrential downpour. So much to take in the walk is quiet, pretty, gives us a chance to be crowd free for a bit ;)

agree walking is the quickest way, we have done it many times. If its raining then yes Boat/

Is there a direct bus from DHS to Epcot? I thought all buses went to a resort.

It seems to me the bus is new, because last time we went, the drop off spot (at HS) was away from all the other bus stops.

As others have said, usually he fastest way to get from HS to the back entrance of Epcot is walking.

With the boat, timing is kind of everything. It may make sense to take the boat part of the way. If you walk, you can cut through the Boardwalk pool area.

That said it is a healthy distance to cover on foot. Some say 15minutes, but I timed it last visit, and even at a pretty brisk pace, in ideal weather, it took us a solid 20 min. In summer heat, the trek may well wipe you out, especially if you are continuing on to TSM or Test Track.

However, as others have also said, the back exit of Epcot is just that. The boat launch is at the back entrance of Epcot. If you are at the very front of Epcot, it may be faster to take the bus. Of all the parks, Epcot is the most spread out.

We found the boat to be terribly slow. The walk was pleasant, however. I guess it depends on the temp outside and if you feel like getting off your feet for awhile. Otherwise, I would walk. :)

One thing I also factor in is in going from HS to Epcot even if you're walking or taking the boat is that entering through the international gateway is so much less crowded and easy.

We like the walk but the boat is also quite relaxing and we definitely make sure to use it at least once a trip.
