Park Hoppers - Do they expire?

If I buy a 5 day park hopper and only use 3 days of it, do the rest expire after a certain date? Or are they like the WDW tickets, and the other two days can be used for a future trip? I checked out the current specials on the 5-day and 3-day, and they do have expiration dates...is this usual? Do the two-day park hoppers have an expiration date? How do tickets work at DL?

We're considering visiting DL before the August 2005 repositioning cruise, and would like to get tickets before the prices potentially go up for the 50th anniversary celebration next year.

They expire 14 days after you first use them. Don't know why they don't expire at WDW and do at DL, but that's how it is.

The ones we bought through Disney online also expire either the end of Dec or Jan. Then they expire 14 days after first use.

All DL park hopper tickets have an expiration date (most usually have 2 (or 3) expiration dates). These dates do vary, so check your tickets. The first expiration date is the last date to buy the ticket. The second expiration date is the absolute last day the ticket may be used (which sometimes is also the last day the ticket may be purchased). The third date is how many days after first use you have to use up all the tickets. Most that I've seen say 13 days, but I have seen other dates.

I think the main reason for having an expiration date is they would prefer to sell the locals individual tickets or an AP, rather than having them buy a 5 day hopper and use it over the next 5 years.
