Park Hopper Ticket question

I am planning to take full advantage of the Adults pay for kids prices on park hopper tickets. I see that the promotion ends April 30th. We plan on being in DLR from April 25th to May 2nd.

Is the April 30th date when the tickets need to be purchased or used? I am assuming it is the purchase date but want to make sure.

They must be purchased/activated by April 30th and expire May 13th.
