Hi all!
Well it is almost 99% sure I will be able to go to DL for the first time and I can't wait. I do have one question for anyone. i am also going to post this on the WDW board as it pertains to that park as well.
Right now if you buy a park hopper pass for DisneyLAND you get 2 days more for free on it. Needless to say this is really awesome but being as there is so much I want to do in California I may not use all the days (I am looking at getting a 2 or 3 day hopper which would give me 4 or 5 days) My question is, Can these unused days in DISNEYLAND be used in DISNEY WORLD?
I don't mean to shout I just want to be as clear as can be as to what I am asking. I know you can use unused WDW days on other trips to WDW but how about between states.
Thanks for the help,
Minnesota

Those park hoppers expire 13 days after first use. My understanding is that WDW hoppers CAN be used at Disneyland, but not the opposite.

Hoppers for Disneyland expire within 13 days of first use (with a few exceptions), unlike WDW passes that never expire. So even if it was possible to use DL hopper at WDW, you would have to do so within those 13 days.

If you buy your park hoppers at the gate I believe they are good for a year or two...only good for 13 days (after 1st use) if bought from Disney Store or Travel agents.

And no I don't think you can them at WDW...I have extra days left on my Universal Studio/ IOA-Florida passes and they won't let me use them at Universal-Hollywood.:(

Can anyone verify if the Hopper passes that you buy on site which don't expire for 1 or 2 years are still happening? I bought one 1.5 years ago and will buy another one if they are on sale still. If fact, may ask a friend to pick one up for me sometime if that is the case. We always go just for one day and then another day, etc. so a multiple day pass with days that expire is not very helpful for us. I hate to buy a one day ticket also and then be limited to one park.

Important Things to Know About Disneyland Tickets

Unlike tickets and passes at Walt Disney World, all multi-day passes at Disneyland expire. FULL PRICE passes purchased at the gate expire after 2 years. Most discounted passes expire 13 days after the first day you start using them. (Unless you use them up first. Naturally a 3-Day Park Hopper is "expired" once you've used all three days, even if 13 days haven't passed yet!)

Another important thing to know: you can apply the value of an unused ticket or pass, or even a partially used one with days left on it, toward the purchase of a higher-priced pass, as long as you do it before your pass expires. For instance, if you buy a 3-Day Park Hopper and then decide on the third day of use that you'd rather have an Annual Pass, you can apply the value of the Park Hopper toward the Annual Pass.

According to the Disneyland web site, even park hoppers at a Disney Club discount expire after 2 years, as long as they are purchased at the gate. The same hoppers expire 13 days after first use if they are purchased at the Disney Store.

Disneyland passes are not good at WDW. They are cheaper than WDW passes. On the other hand, WDW passes ARE good at Disneyland. I know this first hand. I used my unused days on an old WDW value pass at Disneyland a few times.

I had ordered 5 day park hopper from disneyland.com for the $119. Wondering if that can be upgraded & to what since it normally costs more. My kids and I have season passes already as we go about 4 times a year. This I got for my husband figuring he won't be going again anyway after this. My pass expires right after we return so I was going to try to upgrade his the day we are leaving (which would be the 5th day unused) for my own pass, then order the kids through the mail since they give passholders a 20.00 off discount. So, can this hopper be upgraded or do I sell the rest of the time on ebay!

As far as I know, yes it can be upgraded. They will apply the $119 to the cost of an AP with the issue date being the first day you used the hopper.

I am debating getting AAA passes with the unlimited FP then upgrading to AP's just so we can have the unlimited FP for our trip over spring break.

Thanks for the info! We are going in March and the week after our passes expire so I can upgrade that one and buy the two others.

Just want to make sure I have this right.

I am going to DL in April and WDW in May 2004 - Since I want to see both parks in DL and would like to hop it would be smart of me to go to my local Disney store and purchase a WDW 6 or 7 day park hopper pass?!? That way I could use 1 or 2 days in DL and the rest in WDW?

Thanks for all of your help.

Um...I am not sure if that would work or not. I know unused days can be used at DLR but I am not sure if a new/unused WDW hopper could be used at DLR.

How many days do you plan to visit the DLR? You could purchase a 3 day hopper that won't expire for 2 years if purchased "at the gate". This will allow you to visit both parks and have the remaining days available until 2005.

mlshields,

You might want to do the math to see if getting the 6 -7 day WDW pass is more or less expensive than paying for a seperate DL pass or even paying for the days seperately. WDW admission is more than DL.

Do you know anyone living in the So. Calif. area? There's a resident's special going on until 5/15. Two parks for the price of one.

The hopper passes that you purchase on site are good for two years. HOWEVER, there are no discounts or special promotions on them. (i.e. the get 5 days for the price of 3). I usually have friends get a four day pass when they come into town. Use two days now and then two days the next visit.

You can get the Disney Club discount on 3 and 4-day hoppers that are purchased at the gate.
