Park Hop from the water parks?

Sorry not sure if this has been asked before but as i have now booked my tickets and just currently awaiting the info from the agent.

Can you park hop from one of the Disney water parks to the other main parks? reason i ask is because i know that the 4 non-water parks you have to reserve/book online before attendance, but the water parks you do not need to book in advance. So essentially go to a waterpark in the morning and then at 2pm go to MK etc. Thanks

Good question. The water parks do not require a reservation and are not linked to the reservation system.

You may go to one of the main parks after a water park but you WILL need a park reservation for whichever park (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, DHS or Animal Kingdom) you wish to visit, regardless of what time you arrive.

Also, since the water park is not part of the reservation system, the 2PM park hopping rule does not apply.

No. That won't work. You have to have a theme park reservation at one of the 4 theme parks, tap in at that park and then you can hop to another park after 2 PM.

The waterpark part of your ticket is not considered the same as the theme park entries and not considered "park hopping." Waterpark and sports entries are counted as # of entries rather than # of days. You may use multiple entries on one day, you may use these on the same day as a major theme park entry, or to fill-in non-park days, or in any order.

The theme park entries are # of days, and at this time you must have a theme park reservation to enter any of the 4 major theme parks. After 2pm, you may "hop" if you have already tapped-in at a theme park with a reservation regardless of what time you do that initial tap. For example, you can go to a waterpark in the morning, then tap at Epcot (for your reservation) at 3pm, then hop to DHS at 6pm.
