Park at HRH or at Theme Park on last day?

We have rented a car for the day we leave Universal. We are scheduled to pick it up at 9:00 AM, and plan to spend the day at the parks. We will be checking out of HRH. Can/should we park at the resort, or have DH pick kids and I up at HRH and park at the Theme Park?
Pros and cons??Can we do either one??
Distance to park from each point/hassles/conveniences/costs???

That's a new one. You pay for parking each night you stay in the hotel parking lot. But in your case, you're picking up the car and not staying overnight.

Here's what you can try. Get the rental car, come back, and show the guard your room key. They should wave you thru and you can park at the HRH. The guard doesn't collect the money, the front desk does. So when you show them your key, they'll wave you thru.

If you can pick up the rental car earlier, it would give you more time at the parks.

It's a much shorter walk to the parks from the HRH than from the parks garage.
Just park at the hotel and they really won't know you have the car if you've already checked in.
