Would anyone here have any suggestions?

We fly out of Syracuse at 9am and we are 3 hours away from Syracuse. I think our best option would be to find somewhere to stay overnight as well as somewhere we can leave our vehicle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

We have stayed a couple of times at the Best Western right at the airport
and left our car there for a week. Your car is fine there for a week but not sure about any longer than that. Park and fly rate. but call them directly.

We also stay at the Best Western Airport Inn. It is literally right outside the entrance to the airport. They have a shuttle to take you to and from, and we have left our vehicle for 10 nights (including the night we arrive). We will be staying there for the 3rd time on Wednesday night. It's nothing fancy, but OK. If you are a light sleeper like I am, you might want to pack some earplugs. The walls are pretty thin, and I was serenaded by the man in the room next to us snoring up a storm.

I am looking forward to getting the kids in bed, and then going down to the lounge and some chicken wings and a cold beer. The wings are amazing! Breakfast is good, and reasonably priced as well (Whatever you do, don't eat breakfast at Sbarro in the airport; we did once and it was putrid!)

Our flight on Thursday is also at 9:00 a.m. Jetblue by any chance?

We're also flying out of Syracuse Thursday at 9 with JetBlue. (and we live in Ottawa. Do I know you?) We're staying at the EconoLodge (I think... I have to go look at my paperwork to make sure :) )

We stay at either the Quality Inn or Comfort Suites Airport both on Buckley Rd Syracuse - Free parking up to 14 days, but we have always left our vehicle there for even longer - Free airport shuttle - free continental breakfast. This year I just booked all of the above for a date in February for $89.99

Cant beat that.

Thanks very much Siobhan1997 - I called today and booked us into the Comfort Inn and Suites for the night before our trip to WDW in March. That $89.99 is a really good deal when you factor in the free parking, shuttle to and from the airport, and full breakfast in the morning. Plus the kids will love the indoor pool and hot tub when we get there...good way to unwind after the drive.

Have a good trip in February!

Thanks guys!

Yes... we're flying Jetblue. :) first time too. But we're flying out on a Wednesday. April 18th to be exact. :) Now you have me wondering if I'll bump into other Ontarians doing the same thing at the same time.

I will check those all out and go from there. I'm just glad to have a few choices and ideas about the parking.

And thanks for the earplug idea Faye! I'll definitely need them because I hear everything....

Glad to be of assistance.

We are also and always fly Jetblue we got our flights down to $99 each way, and now with the direct flight its even better. I already have a $135.00 credit with Jetblue which I will save for Spring Break 2008.

Hotel is really easy to get to as well, dont forget to try and get in a little earlier and check out the Carousel Center Mall, its awesome shopping !!!

Thanks for the heads up on the Comfort Suite. I just booked for tomorrow night for $89.99, so I saved nearly $30.USD. Actually, way more than that because of the free breakfast, (and sadly, now I won't get the yummy chicken wings so I guess we'll count that as another $30 or so saved).

I used a credit of $240. on these flights (our total was $682 USD for the 4 of us) AND since these fares dropped twice since I booked them, I already have a credit of $200.! I love Jetblue!

Koobs: Who knows, maybe we do know each other. We live in Orleans, how about you?

FayeW: We live near the Hunt Club area. You never know. Our paths may have crossed at one time. They will definitely cross tomorrow at 9. :goodvibes

I'm here at the Comfort Suites now; it's not great. The hotel has a musty smell, particularily in the wing where our room is located. The room itself is shabby. I just had some extra pillows delivered and I pointed out the peeling wallpaper and general dingy-ness of the room. I could complain and move but my husband is exhausted so here we stay. The BW is nothing to write home about either, but I don't remember it being dingy like this room.

We stayed at Candlewood Suites. They have a fenced in parking lot and you can leave your car for 2 weeks. The rates were good, the room was big and included a kitchenette, its close to restaurants, and it has free shuttle service to airport ( 5 minutes away). Also the rooms were renovated in the last 2 years so everything is new and pretty!

In August we also stayed overnight in Syracuse in either Comfort Inn or Quality Inn on Buckley Rd ( I can't remember which one for sure) when we flew to WDW. It was well worth it for us, our room was great. There was 5 of us and so they gave us a suite with French doors etc that was very nice (and clean)! Couldn't beat the price for a place to sleep and shower and have a complimentary breakfast AND leave the car for 2 weeks! And besides nothing would compare to AKL and Poly anyway so what the heck!! xoxo

The only caution I would give is that our return shuttle stopped at 11 pm. I phoned from Orlando our last morning to comfirm our flight times that evening coming in around 9. We were flying the day of a big thunderstorm so most of the flights were delayed in Phillie where we connected on our way home. So our flight to Syracuse was late. We arrived just after 11 pm and I phoned for the shuttle and they said they stopped the shuttle for the night and I would need to take a taxi to get back to the hotel to get our car. (The 11 pm time was never conveyed to us at any point prior to this so this was an unpleasant surprise.)With 5 of us and our luggage a taxi just wasn't going to happen. So I politely pleaded my case and they sent the shuttle out for us which we were grateful for ( even though the desk clerk gave us the wrong place to wait for the shuttle outside the airport--but no big deal). So becareful that you confirm what time the shuttles run if your flight gets in later in the evening. :car:

Thanks for all the advice! I still haven't booked a room yet. I'll check the Candlewood Suites now as I've already looked into the others.

Guess I'll have to make up my mind pronto because April is coming fast!

Legend Of Oden ~ thanks for the shuttle advice. I had no idea. I'm hoping that since our flight arrives at 3pm, we won't be delayed till after 11pm. You never know though.....

I'm curious.....

Koobs and Faye ~ Did you guys bump into each other at the airport??? :)

I've made my reservation for Candlewood Suites. It's a bit more costly than I expected but oh well.... at least we will be very close to the airport and we'll be able to leave our vehicle there and use the shuttle to and from the airport.

I would not recommend the BWSAI as it has really gone down hill. We have been staying there the night before we fly out at March break and it has really become run down and poorly run. This year we are trying Comfort Suites near the airport. The trip advisor reports are pretty good. They even sounded more professional on the phone when I made the reservation. Their park and fly package is a little more expensive but they do include the breakfast buffet in the am. The only catch is that they don't have an elevator either, so if you don't want to drag your luggage up the stairs, you have to request the first floor!

Not sure what rate you got at the Comfort Suites Airport on Buckley Rd. but we got $71.99/night for our stay in February and includes all our parking? We are leaving our vehicle for 19 days.

That is a terrific rate, Siobhan1997! My rate was 109.00 US using my CAA discount with the park and fly. I wonder if that was because it is March break? If you don't mind me asking, is that an internet rate or what discount code did you use to get your rate. I phoned direct and spoke to the front desk. Have you stayed there before?

I used the Significant Saving Rate, open to everyone, just go to Smartertravel.com and scroll down until you see 20% off at Choice hotels, then follow the links. I booked us a king room with sofa bed for our DD as there is only the 3 of us.
