Curry put the team on his back.
Watching Break Dancing, not saying I understand it, but I'm watching! Also keeping tabs on Men's volleyball.
France and Spain have been called out for flopping before. MLS actually gives out major fines for it. If you watch the Premier League next week (NBC, USA Network, Peacock), you will see a lot less flopping. And now I know why I hate soccer. The amount of falling down and acting like you are injured is ridiculous. Didn't take long for someone to fall down. I'm a hockey fan, I've seen guys break bones and stay out on the ice!
If you watch Leagues Cup tonight, you will see less flopping and more physical play. And now I know why I hate soccer. The amount of falling down and acting like you are injured is ridiculous. Not true at all. Mexico, Canada, and South American teams do it consistently. The women flop way less.![]()

The USA men don't flop either. The women flop way less.![]()
My favorite when watching soccer is when they realize no one is paying attention to their dramatics so they get up and go on with playingAnd now I know why I hate soccer. And yet the NHL had a flopping problem, too. Fortunately, they tried to stop it by making it a penalty - but it happens in soccer, in hockey, in basketball, in football......... sadly, an annoying part of the game to try and gain an advantage with the refs. And now I know why I hate soccer. I have no doubt Messi gets targeted, but if you are injured enough to fall down and roll around, you should get off the field. So I like the 2 minute sideline rule. Seems like it is working.
Yes! I've seen at least one player in this match limp around and then miraculously recover!!!!My favorite when watching soccer is when they realize no one is paying attention to their dramatics so they get up and go on with playing
I don't mind watching soccer but it's quite silly the way theatrics go on like that, it may make it difficult sometimes to see when a player actually is hurt.
That said when I was watching fencing the commentators repeatedly discussed what strategies they will use to either gain a bit of extra time to calm down/breathe or to throw their opponent off kind of like icing a kicker. So they'll do things like adjust their shoe/tie their shoe, ask for a different weapon, re-adjust the wires, etc. There was one match I saw where the player did collide with their opponents hand causing their wrist to bend in what looked very uncomfortable. However, it was brought up that he may not have actually been really injured because a very quick spray with numbing spray and some quick pats of ice and he proceeded to score I believe 8 or 9 points rapidly after that. The commentator said it probably didn't feel good but that it could have also been used as a strategy.
100%That's why I like Rugby - no flopping there!
The Leagues Cup matches will not have flopping from MLS teams. Only the Mexican teams.I have no doubt Messi gets targeted, but if you are injured enough to fall down and roll around, you should get off the field. So I like the 2 minute sideline rule. Seems like it is working.
