Paris 2024 Olympics thread (the opening ceremony is Friday) on NBC/USA network/Peacock and other NBC Universal stations.

I am enjoying the youthful exuberance that Laurie Hernandez is bringing to the commentating. It's not the most polished, but she's been there and knows what it's like, and just seems so happy to see her friends performing well.
I actually came here to say the same thing. Unlike Kelly Clarkson in the opening ceremonies, I think that LH is doing a fantastic job balancing knowledge about the sport with an infectious happiness that makes you just want to watch along with her. Very well done.

Archery is becoming one of the sports I really enjoy watching in the Olympics, I found it last Olympics and made sure to record what I could this Olympics.

It goes by quickly and is relatively easy to understand in scoring, basically just that if it's on the line it counts towards the other number so a 9 but on the line to a 10 would count as a 10.

The shootouts, when they happen, up the fun.

Yeah, it was looking good for a hot-minute and the upset would have been awesome, but NZ, man, they are good. Still, I don't think anyone expected Canada to be beating teams like Australia. Heck, the US took the Bronze off of Australia too!
My fault. I jinxed it when I tuned in. :happytv:

Back to the pool....

Also, if people aren't checking it out, watch Handball - it rules!
I never knew about Team Handball until high school when we had it in Phys Ed class. The teacher said it was an Olympic sport, but TV Never showed it back then.

Is it on one of the auxiliary channels or streaming? I doubt standard NBC would feature it.

Is is often on the ancilliary channels or USA, but the games are live early inth emonring, but they were showing some taped games last night.

When I was in HS, it was called European handball, but only the boys got to play (single gender gym classes back then). Looks like a cross between basketball and soccer.

I enjoy watching the more uncommon/ less popular sports that you usually only see in the Olympics.

With the time difference in Paris, it seems like you can't look at the internet during the day. Watching previously recorded events shown in prime time ruins the suspense if you already know the outcome.
