Parents, when you were just ready to start a family vacation, how often did this classic scenario happen?

Family vacation, how about every scout trip. lol. Considering we scout (BSA) multiple weekends a month, this is a common occurrence in our house.

In looking back I’d have to say most restroom breaks were not for the kids!

So hopefully this is not hijacking the thread but how many folks strongly want to... leave the house and stay in a hotel before a long trip

My wife and I would leave the house for 3 months and that would require extensive preparation..I begged and begged that we shut the house down and then go to a hotel..
We never left on time and 30 minutes out...."did you....?"

All. The. Time.

So much so that I regularly have our actual departure time to be 30-45 min after the departure time I've told my family.

We took a cross country roadtrip with our scouts earlier this summer. I can vouch for this! As a woman in her mid 40s when I need to go I need to go!

Not just vacations…on the way to school, at the grocery store, in the middle of a movie (sometimes more than once), in line at Disney, Christmas Eve service at church, and so on. This is life with kids.
