Parents of Gifted: What is "Interdisciplinary Enrichment"?

I finally found out that my dd qualifies for the gifted program and the curriculum Focus will be "Interdisciplinary Enrichment". OK.......so what IS that??????

She is going into the 1st grade and has also just started the AR program.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Extra opportunities across the curriculum. Maybe while studying dinosaurs in science, she'll work on a writing assignement also about the beasts, or make a 3 dimensional model while others might color a picture of one. Maybe she'll work history into her English assignment. In first grade, it will added things making subjects relate somehow.
