If your DH walked in tonight as you were pulling some meat out of the fridge, planning to cook supper as you usually would, and he said, "Hey, put that back in the fridge. Let's take a break tonight, I wanna take you out for a nice supper." then that would not be considered an Act-of-Kindness on his part?
I think a beter comparision in this situation would be if dinner was already in the oven, or even on the table. You would have to do more owrk, to work around his act of kindness. The teachers don't just decide on a whem, oh I'll asign homework tonight. In most situationst is a part of their lesson plans, and would throw off the schedule for the next day, if not for the next several days.
