Parents buy DVC - can kids use points?

You can use their DVC points as long as they make the reservation. My DS (22) and DD (24) have used my points numerous times. I call and make the reservation for them and the reservation is in their name. I have also purchased annual passes for them and they are entitled to the DVC discount (as long as they have the same address as me).

Our attorney advised us not to put our children on as owners.

If they file for bankruptcy or divorce, our DVC contract will be involved.

I know what you are saying, but it is my experience that lawyers tend to give advice that usually helps them earn more $$, not all so please no burns. I think one has to know their children and what might happen. I know some on my son's friends if they were my kids they would not be on the deed. Also if something was to come up, file another quick claim and they are off the deed. At least in my case I am very active with my son's, 31 & 26, and their finances. They are also very up to date on ours. The wife and I have told them that when we are gone do not expect a big wind fall. We find joy in helping them out when we are a live. We get no enjoyment out of what they will get when we are gone. One of the main reasons I purchased DVC was for them and it is the wife's favorite place to go. I have also told are friends once we have grandchildren I do not want to look at the charge card bills. So everyone has to look at there own situation.
