Has anyone ever done the parasailing from the Contemporary?? It looks awesome!

What are the prices, how long (I've heard 10 minutes), do you call and book ahead, can you take a waterproof camera? Any help is wonderful! :D

We just came back from CR and my husband went over to check out the SeaRacers (we have a Sea Ray boat). Someone was parasailing at the time and he asked about the price-$90 but I dont know for how long. Seems pretty steep when many tourist places charge $50-$60 for a few minutes and can also be based on how high you want to go.

My dh has done it for a special birthday present to himself. He did the premium one which is higher and maybe longer too. The oldest ds did it himself and the other 2 ds did a tandem. It is not too long and very expensive. In the nicer weather its more like a production line and you need to book it up well in advance or you are stuck with the time they give you. Last time I felt like the crew was rushing the little ds and they didnt enjoy it at all anyway. They called it a super wedgie experience. I guess you can say its something they wanted to try, did once. and have not asked to do again. They are more into wakeboarding now. We got an ap discount on the rates once. Dh gave the guys a tip the one time, but not this time. They also had a wave runner shadowing us, so they are pretty safety concious. We took pictures and videotaped from the boat while the others were up in the air.

Sammy Duvall has a website where they have a video of it with prices, etc...

My kids were wanting to do it, but I'm not sure if we will or not. We are booked on the Gold plan, so we can because it's included but are seriously considering changing the package around and that may just be one of the casualities of it. LOL!!!

In our case it would have to be me with them doing it tandem since neither of my kids weigh 100 pounds (I think that's the minimum for doing a solo one).

Hope that helps some.

We did it a few years ago - great experience and lots of fun!

We went parasailing twice, both times it was included in the plan and ran around $232 for both of us going separately, probably on the premium flight. No way we would've paid for it, but since it was included, it was fun:)

It lasts between 8-10 min. and is very relaxing. We went this past Nov. and this past Jan. In Nov, when it was warm, they let us dangle our feet in the water. In Jan it was cold, so no water at all. I'd imagine you could bring a camera if you wanted to. There is a photo package that you can purchase at Sammy Duval's where they'll take pictures of you. We just took our free pictures of each other from the boat - one advantage to not going tandem.

Be aware that the marina closes if it's below 50 or if it's windy. Our Jan. parasailing was rescheduled 3 times because of this...

If you decide to do it, have a great time:)
