Hello -
Anyone ever gone parasailing or used Jet Ski's at the Contemporary? We're considering it and are curious if anyone here at the Dis has done it. The prices listed here don't mention if they are by the hour or what sort of timeframe.

Not sure where to post this, but I figured since it was at a resort, I'd start here.

Thanks!

We've gone parasailing when it was included on the package we were on. We did it twice, once in 1/04, once in 11/04. It was fun, but if it weren't included in a package, we wouldn't have paid for it (not that fun;) ).

We went separately, since combined we were over the weight limit for a tandem flight. You go out on the boat, get strapped up, and are gently let out from the back of the boat. It's neat to see Space Mtn and the castle and to be so high up. It's actually quite relaxing (unless you're afraid of heights ;) ). Then after about 10 min. they reel you back in. In Nov. they let us skim our feet in the water. In Jan. it was around 55, so we kept our sneakers on.

In Jan. we had to reschedule 3 times since they cancel due to wind or cold - all of the Disney marinas close if it's below 50. So that's something to keep in mind if you go during the cooler months. In Nov. we scheduled 2 days just in case, then canceled the second time after we were able to go the first day.

HTH :)

My son and his girlfriend went last July. They did the tandem thing (both at one time). I think I remember it was around $149 and they just charged it to the room like everything else they did! LOL!!

my kids DS & DD did it last trip. they absolutely loved it.

went on tandem, up around 15-20 minutes.
people on boat wonderful....DS litte squeamish about going.
totally put him at ease.

paid about $150 but believe you get discount with AP rate.
totally worth going at least one time

We rented two little boats for my DH and DD3. It was a blast!! They are called little mouse boats, and seat two people. You can cruise around both lakes and drive right up to MK. They were rented by time, a half hour minimum. We did not have to committ to a rental time, just returned the boats when we wanted. We were out with 2 boats for 30 minutes and it was only $45. What a great way to see the deluxe resorts, MK and have some fun. I recommend this!

If you go to Sammy Duvall's website, they have the info there, since Sammy Duvall is the one that runs the Parasailing, etc...

They have a neat video of the Parasailing. My 2 older kids want to do this when we go and as we are on the Premium package it's included. We will have to do tandem as they don't weigh enough to go solo (nor would I think they would enjoy it), so I'm going to have to do 2 tandems. :earseek: (I'm not 100% sure I want to do 1 tandem much less 2 but hey you do what you have to do for the kids. ;) )

Thanks, off the top of my head when I posted I couldn't remember the exact website even though I knew it was easy.
