I was wondering if anyone had any comments on either Paradiso 37 or Portabello restaurants? I haven't eaten at either but am considering for our next trip (all girl adult trip if that matters).
I just ate at Paradiso 37 a couple of weeks ago. The drinks are very good. If you like tequila, this is the place to go. I wish I could say the same about the food. I had a salad. The dressing seemed like nothing but lime juice. Very tart. My friend's quesadilla tasted like it had liquid smoke added. Totally inedible. Same with our other buddy's burrito. Burger was good. Guacamole was good. Enchilada was OK. The best thing we had was the corn. It was tasty and awesome. We were just really disappointed with the rest of the food.
I haven't had a chance to try Paradiso 37 yet (I will be trying dinner there in January if all goes as planned). I'm in no hurry to revisit Portobello, however. I just don't think that any of the Italian food on property is very impressive, save Il Mulino, which I haven't tried.
I have to agree with Niki Andiokno. We ate at Paradiso in August, and the food was not that great. We had a great appetizer of three dips with chips that was wonderful, but all of our entrees were mediocre to just plain bad. In addition, the portion sizes were very small for what we paid for.
We stopped by Paradiso for drinks and a snack at the bar before our Fulton's ressie a couple weeks ago and we thought the margaritas were quite good, and the chips and salsa appetizer was wonderful. Didn't try any of the entrees, but DH and I agreed that it would be worth another drinks/apps only visit -- especially on a nice day when you can sit at the tables outside. Haven't eaten at Portobello since they changed ownership...
