Paradise to the Treasure-A Polynesian/Eastern Caribbean/Spring Adventure 2025...Updated 7/27

I just binged this whole TR! I don't know where my quotes have all gone...this keeps happening to me, darn DIS!!!

Hah! I keep getting stuck with not being able to change my font color for some reason!

Love the mom-daughter time. My mom and I just sailed on the Wish in May, and it was so wonderful to have that time just the two of us.
That's awesome! I hope Allie and I continue to do this, they really are the BEST trips!

(PS We agreed on your opinion of Marvel. We didn't love the look of the menu and neither of us are Marvel fans, so last minute, we decided to skip it altogether and eat at the Cantina on deck instead. I see based on your experience, we made the best decision ever!)
Truly the smartest decision! I do feel kind of bad but I've tried it twice on the Wish and now twice on the Treasure and I won't be going back!

Stop! You've read it three times? That's awesome!
::yes::
I don't know if I said this but Mike and I are driving down to WDW in October and he expressed an interest in it so we will listen to it on the way down.
Just whatever you do, do NOT watch the Netflix (? Or was it Prime?) mini-series. Terrible! I could only stomach the first 2-3 episodes.
Oddly, that audio book would take a round trip WDW to complete since it's 30 hours long!
That’d be about one way for me.
You should definitely try The Stand again...it's been many years but I remember loving it at the time!
Okay I will. :)

Hey everyone. So sorry I haven't updated in a while. I had planned on having this TR done before I was supposed to go back to WDW this past Sunday, 7/20. Unfortunately my dad ended up passing away on Friday. He had been in and out of the hospital the last few months and when I saw him on Friday they put him on hospice so I cancelled my plans to go and then he passed Friday evening. We're all very sad but also just relieved that he is no longer suffering and is now at peace.

I'll be back soon to update! I just didn't want anyone to think I deserted this report. We have one more day on the ship and then a couple in WDW left to go :goodvibes

This was my whole life almost verbatim last December. My dad's passing was a bit more unexpected but included a hospice stay and a postponed Disney trip. So sorry, Kelly, the pain is great I'm sure. HUGE hugs to you. :(

OUR LAST FULL DAY

Okay, by now you all should know the deal...breakfast at Marceline's, yada, yada, yada...but this morning was no ordinary morning!
It was officially Churro Mickey Waffle Day! Or Mickey Churro Waffle Day!
You get the idea...
IMG_4133.jpegIMG_4134.jpeg
These lived up to the hype and are amazingly delicious with or without toppings. It's probably good they are not offered every day of the cruise because that would be quite dangerous for the waist line!

We sat and enjoyed them while our ship pulled into Castaway Cay.
IMG_4136.jpegIMG_4150.jpeg

We were excited to be visiting Castaway Cay again and were getting off the ship by 9:40am.
While we were walking off we found this cute little rubber Duckie someone had hid.
We snapped a pic with it and put it back for someone else to enjoy.

IMG_4174.jpeg

Allie has been training to do a half-marathon (her first) and she wanted to do the CC 5K. I did this years ago when it was more of an organized run and they met on the ship and walked you off. Now you just go at your own time and pace and tell them when you finished like on the honor system.

And since my running days are far behind me, I found a couple chairs with an umbrella and relaxed while she ran. Before long she was back with her fancy rubber medal...
IMG_4176.jpegIMG_4195.jpeg
We had to get a couple pics of her with it since it was it was he first official medal ever :P

We sat on the family beach for a while then had some lunch at Cookie's
before heading over to Serenity Bay.
We love this lunch, it's super basic but is perfect for a beach day.

OUR LAST DAY

We relaxed on Serenity Bay for a bit. There was a nice girl next to us with her mom and they offered to let us use their floaty tubes. We walked down to the water with them but the water was VERY chilly and we thanked them but didn't end up using the tubes. Now I've been to CC on every previous cruise and this was the first time I've ever been unable to get fully in the water so I guess maybe that's a drawback of going in March. The air temp was lovely though and we did wade in up to our knees a bit.

Around 3:30pm we took the tram back to the family beach and walked back to the ship from there because we wanted to peek in the shop.
Allie ended up getting a really cute towel for home but I didn't get anything this time around.

We took our time and meandered back to the ship so we could take some photos along the way...

IMG_4236.jpegIMG_4237.jpegIMG_4245.jpegIMG_4279.jpegIMG_4304 (1).jpegIMG_4323.jpeg
We absolutely love Castaway Cay for a relaxing beach day. I would really love to try the new beach area Lighthouse Point someday but when we were booking we had to choose between the newest ship or Lighthouse Point. I don't think we could have gone wrong with either but I think we did make the right choice.

Back on the ship this sad sight was awaiting us..
IMG_4333.jpeg
The "get off the ship tags," meaning this cruise was truly almost over

We did have one last dinner and luckily it was back in the COCO restaurant so we were excited.

(PS-Behind the scenes...I switched over to Chrome to see if I could change my font color over here and I still am unable to. Any other thoughts? I think maybe I have to clear my cache?)

OUR LAST NIGHT

We love this restaurant and this night was so much better than our first night here
because the serving crew was much more relaxed and not as frazzled as the first night.
They even refilled our salsa without us asking! :worship:

IMG_4357.jpeg

Our guacamole...Was this the best? No, but I kind of love any and all guac so this hit the spot.
IMG_4358.jpeg

I skipped the salad tonight and instead got an appetizer:

Beef Birria Empanada
Baked Pastry Turnover with Pulled Beef Brisket, Oaxaca Cheese, Pico de Gallo, Birria Consommé
IMG_4359.jpeg
I love beef birria and thought this was pretty tasty.

We enjoyed the show while we ate, though we were fairly far away. This is very zoomed in...
IMG_4366.jpeg

For my entree I got:

Michoacán Carnitas
Crisp Pulled Pork, Pickled Red Onions, Cilantro-Lime Rice, Guacamole, Salsa Roja Asada
IMG_4373.jpeg

And Allie got:

Something :rotfl2:
IMG_4375.jpeg
I don't even know what this is but it looks like it's off the kid's menu again!

We loved our desserts of churros and chocolate cake...
IMG_4376.jpegIMG_4378.jpeg

So happy we ended at this restaurant because we really enjoyed our meal and the show.

So, I have a couple complaints about this cruise itinerary...or not so much "complaints" but things I wish were different. One of the things I would change is not having CC on our final day. I don't know how they could change it but being our last day kind of detracts from the relaxing aspect of the perfect beach day knowing we have to pack up and get our bags out by a certain time...I think 10, but it could be earlier??

But even worse than that...and I don't know why they do this...the big show that literally everyone wants to see is Moana and it's only on our very last night (and there was a 3pm showing of it but then we'd have to hurry back from CC). We had waited all week and were so excited to see this show, having heard so many wonderful things about it. I feel like they should switch it to a sea day so more people could take advantage of the 3pm showing.

Okay, rant over.

We were very excited to see this show and had heard people line up super early. Since we didn't really have anything better to do we ended up waiting by the theater and were first in line :goodvibes.

OUR LAST NIGHT

So we had heard a LOT about the Moana show prior to going on this cruise. Did it live up to the hype? For us, yes and no. Some aspects were spectacular! The sets and the Te Fiti part was outstanding, as was most of the cast especially the girl who played Moana. Oddly, we didn't love the Maui character and we were sad that Pua and Hei-Hei weren't in the show. Some of the reviews I've seen were actually positive because it wasn't a straight-up retelling of the movie but I think we would have preferred that. That being said we would definitely go again if we ever got the chance.
IMG_4381.jpeg

We called it an early night and headed back to the room to see this final little friend waiting...
IMG_4384.jpeg

After my last amazing night sleeping in this bed I finally pulled up all the sheets and covers
because we need a new mattress and I wanted to know what kind this one was so I can get one!
In case anyone is interested...
IMG_4385.jpegIMG_4387.jpeg

By the time we opened the blinds we were back in Port Canaveral in what seemed like the blink of an eye. It's so crazy to me how at the beginning of the cruise you're thinking you have so much time and then poof, it's over so quickly!
IMG_4393.jpegIMG_4395.jpeg

We had one last breakfast at Marceline's. On the last morning the buffet up there is about half the size as normal but the alternative would be to head back to the final night restaurant at 6:45am so we just prefer to do this at our leisure.
IMG_4398.jpeg

We were walking off the ship by 7:45am...
IMG_4402.jpeg

Good-bye to this gorgeous atrium and ship
IMG_4405.jpeg

Our DCL transportation was there waiting for us ready to take us to the Boardwalk Villas.
IMG_4407.jpeg
We boarded the bus by 8 but didn't end up pulling away until 9am which was kind of annoying.
Next time we would book private transportation if heading back to WDW.

Overall, we loved this cruise! I think the ship itself was gorgeous and the theming is 10/10. The crew wasn't the best but because the ship is so new we can overlook some of the missteps. We would book this again in a heartbeat. If anyone has questions about the ship I'd be happy to answer!

But for now, off to Boardwalk Villas! Allie and I had one final day together and then I had one solo day to sneak in some Flower & Garden Festival since it's my absolute favorite
and I couldn't imagine being in WDW and NOT going!

That's next!

It was officially Churro Mickey Waffle Day! Or Mickey Churro Waffle Day!
You get the idea...
Waffle Churro Mickey Day!
It's probably good they are not offered every day of the cruise because that would be quite dangerous for the waist line!
Oh dear... But... you're on vacation! Calories don't count!
While we were walking off we found this cute little rubber Duckie someone had hid.
You found one! What did the tag say?
Allie has been training to do a half-marathon (her first)
Good for her! :)
Now you just go at your own time and pace and tell them when you finished like on the honor system.
Not quite as fun, I'd think?
And since my running days are far behind me
Knees?
Before long she was back with her fancy rubber medal...
Yay! Glad she was happy with that. :)
We had to get a couple pics of her with it since it was it was he first official medal ever :P
::yes:: Of course!
We love this lunch, it's super basic but is perfect for a beach day.

IMG_4215.jpeg
That looks good. :)
There was a nice girl next to us with her mom and they offered to let us use their floaty tubes.
Nice of them. :)
We walked down to the water with them but the water was VERY chilly
So.... Canadian warm, you're saying?
this was the first time I've ever been unable to get fully in the water so I guess maybe that's a drawback of going in March
Yeah... Can see that. Wonder how it'd be in January?
Nice shot. It looks like those rocks are close, though.
The "get off the ship tags," meaning this cruise was truly almost over
boo!
(PS-Behind the scenes...I switched over to Chrome to see if I could change my font color over here and I still am unable to. Any other thoughts? I think maybe I have to clear my cache?)
Did you try it in BB Code?
this night was so much better than our first night here
because the serving crew was much more relaxed and not as frazzled as the first night.
That's good.
Our guacamole...Was this the best? No, but I kind of love any and all guac so this hit the spot.
I've had it prepared table side a couple times, but... I can take it or leave it.
beef Birria Empanada
Baked Pastry Turnover with Pulled Beef Brisket, Oaxaca Cheese, Pico de Gallo, Birria Consommé
That sounds good!
Looks like a cool show. ::yes::
Michoacán Carnitas
Crisp Pulled Pork, Pickled Red Onions, Cilantro-Lime Rice, Guacamole, Salsa Roja Asada
Yum!
And Allie got:

Something :rotfl2:
:lmao:
I don't even know what this is but it looks like it's off the kid's menu again!
It does. Fries... Mexican rice...
One of the things I would change is not having CC on our final day. I don't know how they could change it but being our last day kind of detracts from the relaxing aspect of the perfect beach day knowing we have to pack up and get our bags out by a certain time.
Totally can see that. I agree with you.
we ended up waiting by the theater and were first in line :goodvibes.
Rope drop for the win!
So we had heard a LOT about the Moana show prior to going on this cruise. Did it live up to the hype? For us, yes and no.
Hmmm... I find that when something is really hyped up, it often doesn't live up to it.
we were sad that Pua and Hei-Hei weren't in the show.
Well shoot. Now that would've been fun. :)
Crab, I think?
It's so crazy to me how at the beginning of the cruise you're thinking you have so much time and then poof, it's over so quickly!
Yes! Exactly that.
Oh dear.
But... Actually a nice shot of you. :)
We were walking off the ship by 7:45am...
Too early!

First, I am very sorry for your loss, losing a parent is very difficult 😥
I loved following along on your adventures and enjoyed learning all about the Treasure!
Thanks for letting us know all about it and your pros and cons.
I hope someday I will be cruising on the Treasure!

Nicely done, Allie! Congrats!
I love this photo, but...
But I love this one more!
We did have one last dinner and luckily it was back in the COCO restaurant so we were excited.

Wait, WHAT?! Holy smokes!
But that set!!! :lovestruc
By the time we opened the blinds we were back in Port Canaveral in what seemed like the blink of an eye. It's so crazy to me how at the beginning of the cruise you're thinking you have so much time and then poof, it's over so quickly!
Every cruise, every time.
We boarded the bus by 8 but didn't end up pulling away until 9am which was kind of annoying.
Ummm, yeah, that'd be freaking annoying!!! I'd have loitered at breakfast a bit longer had I known!
