I tried to find a Paradise Pier super thread to read through but I couldn't find one!

We just booked our first stay at a Disney hotel.. Paradise Pier! We're going October 16-21st. What should I expect at PP? I read about the shorter walk to Disneyland by cutting through GCH so we'll be sure to do that. Also, we booked a standard room for the first 4 nights but had to get Standard Concierge for the last night. Do you think they will have us switch rooms or are the standard room and standard concierge rooms the same?

Any tips you can provide would be great! I'm a little overwhelmed trying to plan everything out. Thanks!

You will have to change rooms, since the conceirge rooms are all special view rooms. You might see if they can bump you up when you check in, you might have to pay some difference though, so weigh that option when you ask.

Take advantage of the snacks that last night.

At the end of the pool deck they will play the fireworks music and you can watch from there.

Like the PP said I would ask for an upgrade to the Standard Concierge when you arrive. I have had free upgrades in years past when it wasn't busy. You get a Newspaper weekdays which is nice, we use that time in the morning to relax and drink our coffee and read the paper while everyone else is still sleeping. I think they still do the perk of getting MM everyday that it is available so (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday of your stay) You didn't say if you had any youngsters or not but they have Paradise Theater which they show Disney cartoons on all day & night it is right next to the elevators and the lobby. Also I have often found that the fastest way to your room is often using the glass elevator it is the lobby and offers a nice view looking out at DCA. The gym is a nice facility if you are wanting to use it you will have to sign a wavier at the front desk otherwise your key card won't allow for it to be unlocked. Make sure to let the front desk know if you are celebrating anything they often times will try and leave something special for you in the room. Also one more little thing if you forgot to make Priority seating at a restaurant across from the front desk in the lobby is guest services they can try and get you into that restaurant (not sure how true it is but the guy last time said that each DLRH gets a block of reservations that are just for guest staying at the hotels.)
Found this link here as well it is dated but might help: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=8920767

What a good idea! I would like more info on PP too. Although we have been to WDW several times, we have never been to DL or obviously stayed in a Disney hotel there. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

One question I have: I have seen the concierge rooms referenced. When I made my reservation, they never asked me which room type I wanted. What is the difference between regular room and concierge? Are there other room types available? What are the benefits of concierge room? Oops, sorry I guess that is more than one question.

Thanks,:worship:

Thanks you guys! Great info already. Keep it coming!
