Paradise Pier hotel to Disneyland

I'd say it's about 10min. We stayed there last year. Just walk across the street and go through the GCH entrance then follow the signs to Downtown Disney. :cheer2: It's not a big deal.

Excellent! Thank you.

I guess this is a pretty general question, but overall were you happy with it?

We were going to stay at the Disneyland hotel, but instead have booked 2 rooms at the Paradise Pier. I'm glad we're at a Disney property still, but I think I was really looking forward to more of a "Disney feel" at the other hotel.

Sounds like overall it gets good reviews, though! Just a little further away and not as "Disney'd up" ? :confused3

I'd put the walk at about 8-10 minutes, plus time in the elevator. It's really only a minute or two further than the Disneland Hotel which is setback off the street more.

You can cut through the GC it's shorter but a little awkaward versus walking strait down the sidewalk to the DTD promenade. However the promenade and sidewalk don't interesct. The sidewalk goes under the promenade. You have to get off the eastside of the road and into the north end of the Disneyland hotel parking lot, which I think is the valet lot. There is a walkway under the curivng monorail track to the promenade. If you are going to DCA it's more worthwhile as there is specail gate inside the GC closer to where you are coming from than the main gates. You can cross the street and walk into the front of the hotel at the driveway entrance.

Also you can take the monorail, it drops you in DL at tomorrowland.

I used mapmyrun to estimate the distances.

PPH through the Grand to the center of the Esplanade is approx .45 mile.

PPH following PPH's signs to the side/back of the hotel, following their path, going all the way through DTD to the center of the Esplanade? .63 mile.

I *thought* I was going the right way by following PPH's signs, but it was such a long and frustrating walk that I did further digging on the Dis when we got back.

We go through the Grand now...much much less frustrating.

And of course if you're going to DCA it makes quite a bit of sense as well!

We have stayed at all 3 Disney hotels, including the Disneyland Hotel 3 or 4 times, and after our last trip, we actually decided we like Paradise Pier the best. It still feels plenty Disney to me (the little soaps and all that) - actually, a lot more Disney that the GC. The rooms are bigger - which now that we are 4 and working on #5 in our family, matters. I know the walk is a little longer, but it honestly doesn't feel that much longer to me, and it is a relaxing walk through the GC. And I actually think the atmosphere in the hotel feels more lively and fun. I think you'll have a great time!

We also had a great time at the Paradise Pier. We also went out the front doors, crossed the street and walked through the Grand Californian.

The pool while not as nicely themed is still a favorite of ours. To get to the GCH pool you must walk through the lobby and past a few restaurants. The DH pool is nicely themed but seems to be crowded at most times. To get to he PP pool it is off of the third floor. It is not greatly themed but with new swimmers it was great because they never got lost in the crowd. Also the water slide does not drop into the pool and the kids could keep the life jackets on. :cool1:

All of the rooms have small refrigerators so we bring water, soda and bagels. At night when everyone is heading to downtown Disney for dinner we go back to the Hotel and order room service. We have our own sodas so the room service is not to pricey and they are fast. We go back to the room put the kids in the bath tub and by the time they are clean dinner is there. It makes the night so easy.

We have always gotten view rooms and it is nice to look out over DCA whil winding down for the night.

Have a great trip.

I feel the same way. PP is my favorite by far.

I am beginning to agree too. I think the PPH is a bit of the red-headed stepchild in the DLR hotel family, and it gets a bad rap because it is located across the street and isn't as expansive as the other hotels. Actually I like elements of all 3 hotels, but the PPH has grown on me more over time. I guess if I could combine the beach/sun/surf/nautical theme & pastel colors from the PPH, along with its spacious rooms and adorable Mickey ears bath products, with the lovely, lush, tropical grounds of the DLH and the gorgeous, earthy, elegantly rustic and cozy lobby/hearth area of the GCH into one big place - and then put it in the same location where the GCH is right now - it would be the ideal hotel! It would be a Mega Hotel. It might look a little strange with all the different themes colliding, but it would be great!

We stayed at PP in Feb and very much enjoyed it. We did cut through GC to go to DCA but the days we went to DL we simply walked over to the monorail and got in that way. Worked great. And esp when LEAVING the park! We enjoyed our room and we received turn down service every night of our stay and it was my mom's birthday and they went above and beyond we thought. I would DEF stay there again. I am anxious to see how the GC compares when we stay there in June!
