Other than being inside the park, is the quality the same on these properties?

From what I can tell, the Paradise hotel is closer to CA and Best western is closer to the main entrance of both parks.

I know we may miss the "early morning" entrance priviledge, but being we are there 5 days, we are in no rush. It will be our first visit to Disneyland.

Paradise comes to $1250.00 for 5 days and Best Western come to $735.00 for a mini-suite ofr 5 days, which would be saving us $515.00.

I am an avid Trip Advisor follower, and both hotels have really nice ratings, but is there any justification for an extra $515.00 ?

Any opinions on both would be nice.

Thanks

:)

Thanks

Well, there's a thread on this board that says that Resort Hotel guests get 2 fastpasses each, good for a special FP line at Little Mermaid...

Also, if you are there five days you could take advantage of all the early entries...

And the Dobies REALLY like the package delivery!

Like any place else Trip Advisor has its +/-'s on the rating. Any day I can get MM I would take it. Our family is always up by 0500 on normal days so getting there is no problem and you can get so much done with less waiting in lines(depends on when you are going). Have fun, I would stay at PP but I have never stayed there.

I have stayed at both and it is really like comparing apples and oranges.

The Paradise Pier is a hotel, big, lots more amenities and is very Disney (decorations, hospitalitiy, etc.).

The BWPPI is a motel, no frills, but very clean and super convenient being so close to the main entrance to both Disneyland and CA Adventure. BWPPI offers a free breakfast, it is your basic muffins, fruit and cereal, but it is a good base to start off your day and is FREE.

It will really come down to 1. do you want to spend the extra money to have the options of what a hotel can offer or 2. do you want to save the money to spend elswhere and stay in a less fancy place.

Have fun!

I think it all comes down to atmosphere. You will have the immersed Disney experience if you stay onsite. Is that worth $515 to you? It wouldn't be for me, but I would rather pay for a character meal or WOC meals or more souveniers. If $500 is a minor drop in your monthly budget then go for it. But since you are asking and not considering the GCH then I am guessing you aren't just rolling in so much cash you don't care about $500. I have two sites to share with some interesting notes that you should consider and read about the two hotels you are considering.

Thanks for the links!

I actually looked at google earth and outside of GCH, all are very close. I honestly would rather spend the money on us, because I don't think from anything I have read would make staying at the Paradise pier more "Disney" experience for us.
We have stayed at every category at WDW in our 5 visits there in the last eight years, and funny part is staying at a "Best Western" In Disneyland would have us closer to the park, than any of those visits, including being at the Contemporary!

To me, the magic is always "in the park", more than the hotel. I just wasn't sure if I was missing anything . From what I have read, I can't justify the extra $$$$.

Thanks all!

The Contemporary is probably the hotel most like the PPH.

So....if there was a no frills, best western motel next door to the Contemporary (& the Contemporary got you in to MK an hour earlier on 2 additional days).....would you pay $100 a day more for the Cont.....or would you stay at the BW?

Me?......I'd probably spend $50-$60 more (per day) for the PPH (which i really like)......but not $100 a day.

Just don't come back talking about the "lack of immersion" or some such ;).....if "immersion" is important then definitely stay on site.

Have a great time planning a visit to Walt's park. :thumbsup2

We stayed one night at PPH last fall and I was very unhappy with the room, so I would stay at the best western and save the $$ for other fun things - get to the park early and run for the FP's but that is just me. We have stayed at the BW too and its a decent room and some the packages you can still get early entry into the park

Good luck.

What did you not like about the room?

I meant to mention that most 3+ day park hoppers come with one magic morn admission. So, it isn't as if you can't take advantage of one early morning. Not as many as staying on site might get you but prob only 1 or 2 less.

I stayed onsite in 2009 when they offered PPH for $100 per night. It was worth the extra $200 it cost me but there is no way I would pay $515 more for it. $515 would cover all the meals and souvenirs I have planned for my 5 night DL vacation in November.
