We are leaving late this afternoon for a week. I am packing our suitcase now, and it is ridiculously full for a family of 5.

Does anyone know if I can do my own laundry somewhere on campus? I don't want to have to drive and leave DL to do it. I vaguely remember someone on here mentioning that the DL Hotel has laundry facilities.

I know the PP has laundry service, but I don't really want to do that. I prefer doing my own laundry, and I am guessing the service would be expensive. Does anyone know the price for it?

The only coin op is at the DL Hotel. When you call PP guest services to ask they'll give you directions. :)

When we were there last month, it was $1 each to wash and dry. You want to split your wet clothes into more dryers than washers, b/c Dh was told that they are feeble. Since you won't want to take the time to dry AGAIN, you might as well just use more dryers and get it done faster. :)

I do not know the cost of their laundry services, b/c I found it far more convenient to have DH go over and do it. ;) (OK I was going to, but then it was really late and I was mega-tired, and a tired female walking alone with a heavy bundle isn't as safe as a big male walking alone with a bundle, so he insisted on doing it)

Just being nitpicky...you ARE using more than one suitcase, yes? If you're using one huge suitcase, and you're flying, watch out! Over-weight charges are stiff. If your words were exact, and you are flying, I would suggest splitting it up into more than one huge suitcase. :upsidedow

Nope, we are driving. I am doing laundry and packing right this minute. This is good information to know. At least now I have an option. I am even bringing a travel sized laundry detergent.

Good idea to bring detergent. DH made a special trip to Von's for detergent (I think they sell it, but I'm picky on how my clothes smell) and then the box tipped over in the trunk on the drive home...sigh.

Be sure to bring a laundry bag or two! Or pillowcases, or basket or something.

PP actually has a cute wicker basket in the bathroom for the towels and such, but I think if you used that for your own laundry, you'd end up with lost clothes. :)

Keep in mind DLH only has a few washers and dryers. We tried doing laundry there early one morning and there was already a line, peolpe were mad, one lady missed her character breakfast with her family because of it...basically it was a madhouse.
