Seems like it could turn into a hair-pulling experience getting through traffic near the Ko Olina guard shack area (i.e. the only way in/out of Aulani) if/when this place gets going and starts having big entertainment draws there.

We thought it was funny that the woman was just standing there waving to everyone. I am sure it could get clogged there though.

Yeah. That's all they ever do. I'm not sure if at one point it was used for actual security, and they just gave up that part, or what, but there's always someone there just to wave.

It can definitely become a choke point there though, with the speed bumps and things, when it gets busy. Hard to say if this new place will draw more people with concerts, etc, than the luau did. I guess we will have to wait and see.

At one point I believe they did stop all traffic at that guard shack. Now it really just acts as a drive-by information booth for the Ko Olina Resort area. And actually if you follow Aliiuni Drive to where it currently dead ends, there's a "sister" guard shack pre-built. So there was some foresight that Ko Olina would be accessed from Kapolei in the future.

Assuming the "Kapolei West" master plan moves forward, Aliiuni Drive will connect Kapolei to Ko Olina. Which would include another exit off Hwy 93. So at some point there will be more than one way to enter/exit Ko Olina. Again assuming these developments actually move forward.
