Sorry if this is a stupid question but...My mom who was diagnosed with cancer last Oct, is thankfully still with us :goodvibes , but she will be using a wheelchair/or Electric one, ECV??? when she & her husband joins us (me, dh, dd 3 & dd 5) next week in Disney World :woohoo: .

This is a 1st time for us in this situation, and haven't seen a disney parade in years, I was wondering where are the areas to view the parade (MK-spectro) for my mom, and how does this work? Will she need to be in a separate section with just her husband or can we all just watch it together? What is the protocall on this?

Any help would be appreciated

All of the park maps indicate special viewing areas for parades. Also in Epcot there are special areas for IllumiNations.

Depending on how crowded it is there may be a limit to the number of people who can enter the area along with the person in the chair. Generally what they will have is the wheelchiar/ECV area in the front and standing room behind. These areas are controlled by Cast Members.

There are two wheelchair areas that of I know of for the MK parades...one is across from the Hall Of Presidents, near the Liberty Bell and Christmas Shop, the other is on the plaza. If you ar standing in the center plaza, facing Tomorrowland, there is a wheelchair area to your right, in the center plaza itself. The plaza area is pretty large, but there are no benches or places for anyone in the party to sit down (except the concrete floor itself). The area near the Liberty Bell is small, and they usually allow the wheelchair and one party member there, but the one person in the party can usually sit along the edge of the planter.

There are 3 parade-viewing locations at the MK. They are:
*Town Square Hub- in front of the flagpole (across from the Firehouse)
*Castle Hub- across from the Tomorrowland walkway
*Liberty Square- across from Hall of Presidents

I can tell you that the 2 hubs (Town Square and the Castle) are out in the open and not shaded. I'm not positive about Liberty Square, but I am pretty sure that it's not shaded also.

Liberty Square is shaded depending on where you sit. The area closest to the Liberty Bell is in full sun. The areas further away are semi shaded
