Parade taping date ?

I am planning a trip in november over one of the weekends, I really dont want to go when they are taping because I am sure the crowds will be awful. Does anyone know the date that it is scheduled for?

What Parade?

The Xmas parade to be aired Xmas day. Last year it was filmed the first weekend of November.

This doesn't really answer your question, but something to keep in mind. I was in DW last Dec when they were filming the DW portion of the Christmas Parade. We scheduled our trip around not being in the MK while they were filming to avoid crowds. We had some rain while we were there, and we didn't know they pushed the date back due to the rain, so when we got the the MK 2 days after we thought they had filmed, we found 5 million Jonas Bros fans screaming and filling the park. It wasn't too bad once we left main street for the first 1/2 day, but after they were done, all the girls went out in the park and it was crazy. Oh well, a crowded day at Disney is still better than being at home!!

We were at Disneyland for the parade taping days last year and I didnt notice any increased amount of people those days over the other days we were there so I wouldnt worry about it too much, unless some hugely popular group ends up performing there then I guess it might be more crowded. It was kinda fun to see all the stuff set up for the event.

We were also in DL in November when they were taping and I saw NO increase in crowds, in fact the park was very pleasant, so I would not worry about this. The only thing it "might" affect would be riding a vehicle down main street, or they might close the castle at various times for filming.

Thank you for all your responses. I think I will just go ahead and book the first weekend of November. I cant wait!

From what I always thought, the parade taping fell over the weekend before Veteran's Day, which looks like the weekend you may be going. But I would not swear to that. Just think of it this way... get to the park early and while everyone else is filling up Main Street for the parade, you can be riding everything else and having fun!

We were there that day! I have been to WDW many times, including the week between Christmas and New Years, and I have never seen MK that crowded. We waited 1/2 an hour in line for Pooh WITH our fast passes. The standby line was over 90 minutes. When we went by Small World the line was an hour! In our last 3 WDW trips it was never more than 10 minutes, if that. We were flying home that day, so we weren't there for too long after it turned insane, but definitely long enough for me!
