Parade starts when park closes???

This should be an easy one for you veterans, but I couldn't find an answer using the search function. On Disney's calendar, it says that Spectromagic starts at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., while the park closes at 10 p.m. So, will there be a second parade on that day?

Another question: If I dine at Crystal Palace as a parade is ongoing, will the characters be present at the restaurant? I've read somewhere that only 1 Mickey is present anywhere in WDW at any given point in time. If that is true, does it mean that Winnie the Pooh and Friends will be at the parade and therefore not at Crystal Palace?

Many thanks to all posters who've provided a wealth of information that I'm only beginning to scratch the surface of!

you won't see Mickey at Crystal Palace ever. Crystal palace is where pooh characters are. Piglet, Tigger, Pooh, and Eroye

Don't confuse a WDW park "closing" time with the situation that, say, a Target store considers itself to be closed for the night.

WDW guests are not expected to be out-the-door and the place shuttered at "closing" time.

It just a way to make it easier to close the entrances to the ride queues (which do "cut off" at the posted closing time) because most guests will be waiting for the "show" to start.

At WDW, many of the evening events start AT the closing time, or even later.
That way its easier to close the entrances to the ride queues (which do "cut off" at the posted closing time) because most guests will be waiting for the "show" to start.

For example, IllumiNations starts at Epcot's closing time every single night (except on PM EMH nights, of course).

Oops. Error on my part. Yes, I meant Winnie the Pooh and Friends. I've edited the original question.

That's a good point.
