parade seating

headed for first family trip in 12 days!!!!!! anyhoo....plan on seeing MSEP and MNSSHP boo to you parade. where is the best place to sit for each parade? and how long should we get there to save a spot? for the MNSSHP plan on seeing the first parade and staying put for hallowishes. tia
