When you enter a park do they tell you the begining and ending point of the parades for that day? Also, are the parade routes always the same or do they change the beging and ending on different days? I am trying to find out if the 1st parade of the day always begins at a particular spot and then the next parade would be the reverse. Or does WDW keep you guessing each day where the parade actually begins. Sorry to babble on, I would be so grateful for any info.

Hmmm....interesting question!! When I saw the 100 yrs. of Magic Parade, Spectro Magic and the MVMCP parade last year, they always started at the bottom of Main St and worked their way to the train station. Standing at the curb under the flag is a great place to stand!! The parade and floats need to slow down to make it around the bend and it gives you a great photo opp!! Once, last year, the float with Ariel on it didn't slow down enough and it hit the curb...only feet from where we were sitting!! Totally took the bottom of the float off!! But it did give us a great chance to see the computers that make those things work!! BAD for the CM driving it though!!

When we were there in October a CM told me (because I asked) that the daytime parades start in Frontierland and end going down Main Street and the nighttime parades are the reverse- ending in Frontierland. And sure enough, that is what happened- the 'One Man's Dream' Parade that they are doing now started in Frontierland and then both SpectroMagic and the MNSSHP Parade did the reverse.

You can just ask a CM and they can confirm the direction. There was only one daytime parade when we were there so I don't know if it would be different if there are two day time parades.

Have fun.

Parade routes are always the same. For MK the day parade always starts at Frontierland and ends at Main Street and the night parade (including Halloween/Christmas parties) always starts at Main Street and end at Frontierland (the only time you will see this changed is if they are filming the night parade, if they are filming they will run it in reverse so that it is coming up Main Street with the castle behind it...this is very rare though).

Not sure of the exact parade routes at the other parks (as far as start and stop) but they always start and end in the same place, they won't keep you guessing... as other posters stated when in doubt ask a CM that is working the parade route :)

Yes, that includes Spectro. It must have something to do with them all being in place to go for their next parade. That way each parade keeps making a circle. One going clockwise and the other counter. I've never seen it happen any other way.

During MVMCP, there are two nightly parades. The first starts at Frontierland and goes down Main St. The second is the reverse of that.

Actually (unless you saw a filming) that is not correct. The day parade is the only parade that starts at Frontierland... ALL other parades start at Main Street and end at Frontierland. This includes Spectro (ELP when it was at WDW) , MNSSHP, MVMCP... Even when they are doing two performances they BOTH start at Main Street...The only time you will see a parade at night time that starts at Frontierland is if they are filming the parade and want it to be coming up Main Street with the castle behind it (which is rare)...

The reason for this is so that the park exit does not get mobbed. Once the parade ends a lot of people try and exit. If the parade is coming from Frontierland to Main Street all the people that watched it from the begining would essential be trapped by the parade if they were trying to exit. They run the night time parades from Main Street to Frontierland so that as it passes you you are able to get up and turn "away" from the parade for a path to the park exit if you wish... Again the only time you will see a parade at MK starting at Frontierland (other than the 3pm parade) is if is being filmed by Disney for the media...

well that makes sense! so if you want to get out before the mad onslaught of humanity you should probably view spectro from as close to the train station as possible?

Thanks for the very helpful info.

trying to start a new thread and failing miserably:o
