I've been scrapbooking for about 4 1/2 years now. I actually started after our first trip to WDW because I thought it would be a great way to preserve our memories! I really enjoy doing it!

I've never gone to a convention or a retreat or even scrapped with another person, although I'd love to! I've always just kinda gone with what I felt was best for me and what I liked!

I'm wondering what you guys use for a cutter and adhesive.

I gone through 2 different fiskars cutter. The one I have now is 12 inches (the other one was smaller, I still have it but the size isn't good for a 12x12 layout) with a foot kinda thing that you foldout to aid in measuring and lining the paper up. It has a regular, 2 sided blade not a rotary blade. It's ok, not as great as I'd like though. I'm thinking of buying a cutter with a rotary blade and am wondering what you all think is the best and what you use and like!

Also, since I've been scrapping I've used countless different types of adhesive and never found anything I'm that fond of! I've used different small tape runner and things like that different types of photo safe glue sticks etc, etc, etc, etc. Some of it just crap and a waste of money! I'd really like to know about adhesive!!!What do you use, what do you like, whats best!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

My new ATG (adhesive) gun has changed my life.

Honest! Love, love, love it!:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Well worth the investment.

For rotary, I recommend Cutterpede. We have a Fiskers two sided too... it never gets used. We have two Cutterpedes instead (I broke the arm off of one..that's the only downside - you have to be careful with the hinged arm - but it still works for small things or things that don't have to be measured). And you can get interchangable blades - they have scoring, perforating, wavy, zigs, zags, etc.

I love my CM tools and adhesives. I am hoping CM comes out with a personal trimmer that is 12 x 12 very soon in addition to the present 4 x 6 one.

Where did you get the cutterpede? I am in Southern NH, did you get it local?

Either AC Moore or Michaels. I think it was Michaels... we go there more. And the blades we picked up at various stores.

I don't remember all of them. I could ask my mother, she might know, if you're interested in the blades.

I love my cutterpede cutter. I own several and this is the one I grab the most. The only down side is the arm hinges at 5 1/2" so when I am cutting cards I need to use another cutter to cut my base.

As someone else mentioned the ATG gun changed the way I scrap. Really! It's large so can take a little getting used to but considering I can get yards of adhesive for the same cost as feet with the smaller applicators it's was worth the change. Now I don't notice any difference. It's an investment up front but if you scrap a lot it will save a ton of money.

My favorite random adhesives: xyron x for letters, zig glue pen, terrifically tacky tape (must have!) glue dots. If I have these and my ATG I can glue anything.

I've seen the terrifically tacky tape at Mike's, etc. but don't ever pick it up - even with my 50% off coupons. What does it do that the ATG doesn't?

I do use the liquid Zip Dry glue or the white Scotch Quick Dry adhesive (a fave!!!) for larger elements (flowers, etc,) or ones that wouldn't work well with the ATG. Perfect Paper Adhesive in teeny tiny amounts is fabulous, too.

I've used these two but tend to grab the others more. I have every size zyron so I will use it over a liquid glue. I do like the mono liquid but it's not a fast dry.

The TTT is great! I use it for everything that has any weight to it, especially ribbon. It is really strong and will hold ribbon on cards, which is how I started using it. It will hold seed beads, glitter and I have even used embossing powder on it. The smallest is 1/8" and it goes all the way up to full sheets.

I used my ATG for flowers yesterday. You really just need to touch the tape to the flower or you can just put the tape where your flower needs to go and then put the flower down. I prefer glue dots, zots singles are a fav since I tend to unroll the others and waste them, or TTT for flowers.

Thanks for the info - maybe I'll pick up a roll and see how it works for me. It is really cheap - only 2.99 a roll or something - and with a coupon, it would be half that. We use a lot of ribbon on cards and layouts - but I just roll my ATG on it - works great and really sticks down well.

Always fun to hear tips from other folks - ! :thumbsup2

I just traded an extra CDS for an ATG gun. I'll let you know how it goes. I really really like good old Tombow though. I get it from the office supply store in bulk, so it's only about $2 a roll.

For cutters, I struggle. I love love love my big honkin' Fiskars rotary cutter, but it's not very portable for crops. I have the Making Memories rotary one and it's meh, not great, but not horrible either. I wish I could find the "perfect" cutter and I just can't!
