Anyone else getting married this week, or in the next two, freaking out yet about the NEW hurricane that is headed our way? I can't belive this. I am trying to hold it together but I am quickly starting to panic and wonder what is going to happen.

Anyone know how they handle this if it does happen?

I need words of comfort, be gentle.

Don't panic...it looks like you have a wonderful wedding planned.

No telling where Ivan will go so don't try to guess.

Focus on what a "beautiful" day you will have.

My wedding is a few weeks away and is totally outside, so I'm planning on it being bright and sunny. Hopefully Mother Nature is planning this also.

Smile, you'll be experiencing the magic soon!

hang in there sweetie!!

according to the news this morning, they still don't know which way Ivan is heading.

we'll all think positive thoughts for you!!! i'm sure your wedding day will be beautiful!!

sending truckloads of pixie dust your way!!!!

I wouldn't panic yet. There is no telling when and where Ivan will go at this point.

In the event that Ivan were to cause Disney to close, I assume they will handle weddings the way they have been, which is to reschedule them for the day that the parks re-open. But, even if Ivan were to hit Disney as Charley and Frances did, it should be long gone by the 18th, and you'll have a beautiful wedding day.

I know its hard, but try not to panic yet. And trust that Disney will do what they need to to make the situation right. If you are really worried, I would have a conversation with your EM about it. They would be able to tell you exactly what the back up plan would be for you wedding.

I'm sending lots of pixie dust your way!

Jenny do as Helen suggested and speak to your EM then let us know what they said so that I can stop worrying for you too ;)

Honestly it's all gonna be fine, of course you can't help but panic but from what I've been reading I think that Ivan won't be near your day sweetie and I'm doubley making sure of this by sending loads of pixie dust from all the way over the pond.

{{{hugs}}}

I'm with HMGolden. Even if Ivan goes the way of Disney, the projections show that it should be past there by tuesday. That'll give everyone plenty of time to clean up for your wedding on Saturday, which I'm sure is going to be fabulous.

Although I'm not having a wedding on the 18th, it is my birthday and we're going to head to Disney for a special lunch, so I too hope that it's not closed.

Tons of Pixie Dust to you. Don't worry about it too much, I'm sure you already have enough on your plate!

I am right there with you Jenny, as My wedding day is the same day! I am not so concerned about it storming on my wedding day as all my events will be being held inside! (I'm probably the only bride who ever said that she didnt care if it rained on her wedding day...lol) What I am most concerned with is the days surounding my wedding day. This is the first time that many of our guests will be seeing Disney World and I want it to look it's best. I don't want our guests to have to sit in their rooms because the parks are closed.

On a good note: I too heard from several of my vendor in FL, that this storm is expected to by pass Orlando. It is gonna past more on the Key West side and that area. But I've also heard conflicting stories about when it is expected to hit. Some say it will be over by Saturday and other others are saying that it will hit around (wednesday or thursday). We fly to Orlando on Thursday, so I hope our plane does not get delayed. Especially since we have a special PS planned at the Castle, and our Fireworks cruise is that night as well.

Thanks for all the good words and pixie dust!

Meranda! I have been thinking about you all day! I can't wait to meet you next week!

I am in a panic too .....!!!!!!!

Our wedding is next Friday....the day before yours and Merandab4.......We are supposed to fly into Florida on Wednesday......we still have to get the marriage license and all I can think of is that Ivan is going to delay our flights and we won't be able to get our license in time and won't be able to get married on Friday.....

I have been glued to the NOAA's website and each time I look....the track is more and more to Florida and the day I am supposed to fly.....

I am glad I am not the only one having anxiety attacks over this. I just can't believe that 1 year of planning and it's soooooo close and to have to worry about IVAN....UGH.......

Hopefully I will see both you and Merandab4 there!

That has been my real fear as well. As long as he hits this weekend or early in the week...BUT that may mean not getting the marriage license in time! We too fly out on Wednesday morning.

I hear you about the year of planning, not to mention the 140 guests that are flying down to see us!!!

IVAN...go west...

I share your panic... We are driving down on Sunday and are set to wed outside at the Yacht Club pavillion on Wednesday the 15th at 3:00.

I have become a veritable meterologist over the past week watching NOAA's forecasts & predictions about the weather. The last official forecast at 5:00 EDT shows Ivan passing to the west of Tampa on Tuesday morning. Even if it passes over Disney, they should have everything cleared away by Saturday. Now Tuesday?........That's a horse of a different color.

We spoke with our EM and she assures us that rain or shine, we will not leave Disney World unmarried. They may have to move ours indoors to accomodate the weather or reschedule for another day if the weather is too dangerous. (neither of these should be a problem for you on Saturday.) Luckily, it's just the two of us so we can afford to be a little more flexible if push comes to shove, But I understand your concern. We've planned on this wedding for a year and a half and now that it's down to the wire Florida gets hit with 2, possibly 3 major hurricanes; our officiant is in the hospital having back surgery and we had to secure another 1 week before the ceremony. We had even thought about postponing everything, but now it's more like a mission......a quest to get married. Come Hell or high water, (and I mean that figuratively.....please, please, no high water.) we are on our way, Ivan be damned.

I'm sure we'll all look back on this and laugh, but I fail to see the humor at this point.

For infor on Ivan updated every 4 hours, go to www.noaa.gov to see discussions, forecasts and maps showing Ivan's projected path.

NOAA uses around 8 different statisical models to predict Ivan's path. To see where each of these different models puts Ivan over the next 5 days, go to http://www.sfwmd.gov/org/omd/ops/weather/plots/storm_09.gif

After day 3, all of the models project a different path for Ivan due to the uncertainty of the steering currents in the gulf. So it's really too early to tell exactly where Ivan will go once it reaches Cuba. Maybe by Saturday evening or Sunday morning the forecasts will be a little more certain. Till then, all we can do is pray for all the poor souls in Florida who have already lost so much in the last two storms.

Good luck to y'all. We wish y'all the best of luck. If you're down there next week, stop by and say 'Hi'. Just look for the 6'4" guy with the Mickey wedding ears on.:earsboy:

Jenny -

I have your problem solved. I am pretty sure I know a guest at your wedding. When I spoke to her yesterday she was a worried for you about the storm. I have package raincoats in ribbon for her to take with her...that should guarantee no rain.

Congratulations
Sandy
